Frigidaire Tumble Action Washer

Hi, when I shut my Frigidaire Tumble Action Washer door to begin the first cycle (Light wash), it fills with water. The Wash Light does not turn on, but the Rinse light comes on, no laundry is being washed, the water just fills up and drains whenever ? Any solution ?

Frigidaire front load washer FTF2140 upon start it began filling and then turn off, did this everytime. Unplugged it and the same thing happened. Now the lights stopped coming on and it does not work.

Good Morning Heather,

I understand that your Frigidaire washer, model# FTF2140, begins to fill and then turns off. You unplugged it, trying to reset it, and now the lights are not coming on and your washer is not working. Since you have already reset your washer, by unplugging it, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine what the cause of your washer not working is. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Was wondering if the washer is supposed to fill to certain level at wash cycle?

Yes. On top loading machines, it is very easy to see. On front loading machines, not so easy to tell. Front load machines fill to a very low level, (which is why you should only use 1 to 2 tablespoons of HE soap with them) then when they begin to tumble (wash motion) the clothes absorb water, causing the water level to drop, resulting in the fill of additional water until the original water level is acheived again. This process generally takes several times to get all the clothes saturated and the water level to stabilize. Additionally, water valves may cycle on and off several times as the machine adjusts the water temperature, even if you were running an empty washer through a cycle. Gentle cycles will use more water, as more water = less abrasive scrubbing action. Normally, using front loading machines, you will not see much if any water through the door window.

My frigidaire front load washer will start a wash, complete the first cycle but then stop and flash all the lights and beep continously until I press "start" or "cancel". If I press "start" again it just...

Hello there:
If your cycle does not complete or The cycle doesn't advance
When the cycle should advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. than check the cold water supply line and the filter

Will not go into tumble action

Because F04 is not a clearly defined failure, the possible cause of your situation is a timer, a lid switch, a belt, a drive motor, or an agitator.

Solution, before proceeding watch your timer (does it follows its cycle?) if no replace timer, if yes, then check your lid switch replace if defective, check your belt if it broken or worn replace it, check your drive motor for functionality, and check your agitator--your agitator can become worn, strip out the spline that allows it to properly grip the shaft.

Water only fills the machine in certain parts of cycle

a 90* wash will fill mainly with hot water / a 40* wash will fill mainly with cold water, this is normal action, rinses fill up with cold water only

is this what you are describing, if so thats normal, especially if its doing the job correctly
