1...Plug your Kingston data traveler in to your computer
2...Go to desktop and open "My Computer"
3. You will see your Kingston Data Traveler listed there
4...Right click on the Data Traveler
5...Click on "Format"
This will format your Kingston Data Traveler

This could be due to virus problems on your PC. Try formatting it on other PCs. Else your data traveler might have been damaged due to dropping, rough usage etc which is less likely. Try formatting it on a linux PC as well.

Are you positive there isn't a flash drive stuck in a USB port somewhere else on the computer? Very peculiar for the computer to be recognizing a completely different device.

Insert the drive into your PC's USB port.

Open up "My Computer" and locate the USB drive in the list of drives.

Right click on the USB Drive and select "format" from the list of options that appear.

A Quick FAT32 Format is more or less all thats needed.

Throw it away, and buy a new one, since the current one is unusable.

All you need to do is to format the Pen Drive.
Open My computer.
Right Click on Pen drive.
Then click on Format. You will get different options like quick format or such.
Select the option that says complete format.
Once you format the drive you will be able to use it.

Try going into Control Panel/Admin tools/Computer Management then Disk Management. You will see a display of all drives connected. Right click the flash drive the Delete Partition, Now right click again and format. Hope it works Cheers from Scott

Your pen drive might have got corrupted.
Just format it and the problem will be gone.
