A new cable box was connected to my 32" Proscan LCD TV. Now everytime I turn on the television I see the message "HDMI-1 No program information available" I contacted the cable company and they said that to figure out how to remove this message from displaying I must contact the manufacturer of the television. Please help.

Here are a few ideas:

• The No Signal, No Source or No Input message will appear on your television screen when the television is not receiving a signal from your Digital Box. This is often a result of either the Digital Box being powered off, not being properly connected to the TV, or if the TV is set to the wrong input.
• Press the "TV/VCR" button on your remote control if you are experiencing no picture. This button will allow you to toggle between TV and VCR screens and may solve your display problem.
• Make sure your cable box is turned on.

Config you PC for the Video out put.

You can attempt to force 1080p to the TV by unchecking the box "hide modes this monitor cannot display" in the display adapter propteries, then try to select 1920 by 1080p, 60hz, 32 bit color, and see what happens. Post back what your findings are.

First, verify that your computer is sourcing video through the HDMI port rather than looking for an input from it.

What happens if you try to select an HDMI input on the TV with no HDMI cable connected? It should select the port, then complain about "No signal." If you get that, turn off the TV and computer, connect the HDMI cable, turn on the TV first, then the computer.

There are certain HDMI input chips on the market that are very vulnerable to static electricity damage, and some cheap HDMI switches will conduct a static discharge from the switch mechanism to the HDMI lines (a friend blew two chips that way, then he realized both times the input went out when he used the switch). Use a direct cable connection if possible, and avoid putting a fingertip into the free end of an HDMI cable when the other end is the only one connected. Symptoms of static electricity damage may include "no signal" when an active signal source is connected, or some sort of data format error message. I don't know if your TV is programmed to lock out bad ports; I would think there would be some sort of fault indication to go with the lockout.

First, HDMI is not a perfect hook-up solution. Cable box connections via HDMI are notorious for being problematic. The best thing you can do is contact Samsung and get the latest firmware for your TV.
Samsung Customer Care: 1-800-Samsung (1-800-726-7864). If this does not resolve the issue, connect the cable box using Component cables instead of the HDMI. Component cables are HD also. I hope this was of some assistance.

I have the same problem with a 40" Toshiba LCD, Component cables work fine with FIOS but not HMDI, goes in and out then blank. HDMI with DVD player works fine. Best buy reported this same problem from users with this toshiba lcd but no solution.

Everything I've read on the web says cable box to tv connection must also use component (rgb) cables. The error is coming from the cable box (STB). All the Scientific Atlanta (SA) cable boxes seem have this Digital Rights Management (DRM) bug and the only way to be totally rid of the error is to replace the digital connection from box to the TV with an analog connection.

First try another signal input like a DVD player or other source, is the signal displayed ok? Then you have lost the signal on one input from whatever the device is.
