How to turn on hp WEbcam that is built in - HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook

The WEBcam driver may not be installed.

check web cam settings in yahoo it may not have the web cam selected.

it will turn on when you use an application that can use the webcam
if you have software HP Webcam software, launch that, and then the camera should auto start

to turn on the inbuilt webcam on the hp, you will need the program for the webcam running. we have different kind of webcam software but the two i knew will be mentioned in this answers.
click on start, in the search box type hp webcam or you cam depending on the software installed on your computer. launch the application and the webcam will start automatically.

Hi,

This is known Webcam issue in DV6000 notebooks. To resolve or narrow down the issue, we have to check few things.

First open Device Manager.

Please follow these steps to open Device Manager:

1. Right Click on 'My Computer' icon on Desktop and choose Properties.
2. The System properties Window opens.
3. Click Hardware tab and then click the Device Manager button.

Expand + Imagining Devices and check if the HP Webcam is listed under it.

If Webcam is not listed there, then you have to contact HP to get the BIOS update.

If it is listed there, right click on it and select Disable. Again right click on it and select Enable.

Now open any applications like Quickplay and check if Webcam is working or not.

There should be an icon on your desktop for the webcam, if not try checking in your device manager to see if it is enabled..go to control panel>system>hardware>device manager It should be under the imaging devices.
