Well i started playing fallout:new vegas and a day later it started freezing,as in i would talk to someone or go into a new place or even come in and out of target mode and it would freeze 30 secs to me needing to restart.then i tried other games to see if they would work and some without any damage wouldent even get past the title screen.keep in mind that the ps3 was working fine until i played fallout new vegas.and the ps3 underwent a 2foot fall 1 week ago but no problemsuntil i started playing fallout.PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

O to add whoever is telling peeps to tare apart their console needs go away. That error is a boot log error not a bad laser not a dirty laser. My laser is brand new and I get all the stupid game lock ups and errors this game comes with.. So we all know its the game ....Back up all ur game saves from all your games on a flash drive. I am going to restore the ps3 to default before any patches. Have your joystick charging cord ready. Put the ps3 in stand by mode "just red light on the power indicator" Hold the power button until u hear 1 beep then 1 beep then 2 beeps together. It may turn off then start over the 1st time. Dont worry just keep holding until u hear the 2 fast beeps. It will bring u to a menu with 6 options. Choice number 5 this will wipe everything but your system update and set the console to factory settings. DO NOT set up any internet connection to the console. It stupidly will ask that the 1.07 latest update is available just hit your 0 for cancel. 1 - Open a Command prompt using "Run as Administrator" (Start>All Programs>Accessories>Command prompt)
2 - at the prompt type: CD "C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\"
3 - hit enter
4 - a new prompt will appear, showing the above path
5 - at the next prompt type the makelink command (described below)
Command:
mklink /d "Fallout New Vegas" "G:\games\Fallout New Vegas"
(*** "G:\games\Fallout new Vegas" is an example. You will want to put the correct path to your Fallout New Vegas install folder.)
6 - hit enter
7 - This should create the representation of a new folder in the "proper" steam directory. (If you were to open this folder, it should take you to the real "Fallout New Vegas" folder, wherever it actually resides.)
8 - You will need to re-create any shortcuts using the new "proper" path. (IE C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\FalloutNVLauncher.exe)

- What did I just do?
You created a Portal between two folders to make them capable of existing in the same time-space. (For lack of a better layman's description) Be wary, this may cause the release of exotic particles into a neighboring universe.
- Why did this work?
When the computer now tries to find Fallout it will go to the default directory, and find the "Fallout New Vegas" symbolic link (again represented as if the folder were actually there) and use it as a window to the actual install. The game will be fooled into thinking it's using the default install directory, when it is not.
- Why not just use a shortcut?
Because it won't work.
I had a the same problem before. Sometimes, a blu-ray will simply not work. I can't remember what game it was that did it to me, but I took it back to gamestop and traded it for another of the same game and it worked just fine. Hope this helps.
you need to go on xbox live with the game in the disk tray and if there is an update available it will notify you and ask you to download it. Bethesda/Obsidian has a patch which they have announced to come out sometime next week which will fix a large number of software problems
just bought nhl 10 a couple days ago and started playing 'Be a GM' 24 hours later, when i go to play it the game freezes a lot and i can only play my ahl team but not my team only the opponent team. when i try to put someone on the trading block it also freezes. can anyone give me some advive?
when the game fallout 3 has even the tinyest scratch in the right place some parts of the map freeze because the game data is unreadable.
try cleaning the disk
and if that dosnt work you might have to consider getting a new game.
