Without knowing the model of your phone I can't give you a definite answer, but on many Uniden DECT 6.0 phones you press and hold the # button to switch out of silent mode.
You can get the model by selecting the model of your phone from the list beginning at http://www.uniden.com/owners-manuals/dect-phones/scat/dectphones_mnl/
hi,
you cant.
your going to have to get a mid priced universal with extended features. read the packaging. thrift stores sometimes have a bag wall with old remotes so if you have someone who goes to the thrift store sometimes tell them to start looking for either a vcr or tv remote that says emerson on it for you. directv and dish network universals have video input buttons, if you have eith of those providers go to their website, download or find the chapter where it shows how to set up your viseo input. it is shut off by default..

The problem your having appears to be with your video circuit. Depending on your model's options this would consist of 1) LDC panel display, 2) video card or on board video controller, 3) LCD ribbon cable. If your laptop has an external video adaptor port, connect it to an external monitor and see if the problem occurrs. If the problem happens on the external monitor then your laptop LCD display panel is probably OK. If this is the case, you'll need to diagnose the problem further or take it to a repair shop. The reason it seems to work in safe mode is that the video circuit is not being fully utilized, ie.. no wallpaper, screen saver, etc..
I Have the Same Problem. it is very Annoying I find it sometimes Helps To push down on the mode button while moving it a across. I think maybe there is a plastic catch that is worn or something. I am thinking of taking it apart and having a look to see if I can fix it.
