OK then please follow these steps.
Before you begin
WARNING: The edges of metal panels can cut skin. Be careful not to slide skin along any interior metal edge of the computer.
CAUTION: This product contains components that can be damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD). To reduce the chance of ESD damage, work over a non-carpeted floor, use a static dissipative work surface (like a conductive foam pad), and wear an ESD wrist strap connected to a grounded surface.
Removing a CD or DVD drive
Use the steps in this section to remove a CD or DVD drive so that an empty bay can be used to install a new drive.
WARNING: Make sure the computer is disconnected from power before starting.
Step 1. To remove either the lower or upper optical drive, remove both the right and left side panel and the front cover.
For more information about removing the side panels and the front cover, refer to the HP support documents Opening the PC Case and Removing the Front Cover.
Step 2. Remove the power and flat ribbon cables from the rear of the drive that you want to remove.
Step 3. Pull on the quick release latch for each CD or DVD drive that is installed
Step 4. While holding the release latch, pull the drive out through the front of the PC.
Installing a CD or DVD drive
Use the steps in this section to install a new CD or DVD into an empty drive bay.
Step 1. Attach four screws, two on each side, to the new drive.
You can use the screws from the drive that was removed or additional screws can be found on the front of the PC.
Step 2. Make sure that the new drive is set to Cable Select (CS).
Step 3. Align the screws on the side of the drive into the guides on the chassis, and insert the drive into the PC until it locks into place.
Step 4. Attach the power and flat ribbon cables to the rear of the drive.
Step 5. Replace the side panels and the front cover, reconnect the cables, and turn on the PC.

Step 6. If using Windows, wait until Windows fully opens, finds, and configures the new drive.
