My samsung remote for my blu ray player stopped working for my samsung TV today. i have never had this problem before. it still works on the blu ray player which then turns on the TV like it is supposed to...is there some kind of RESET button or code for the remote??? the original TV remote still works...so, i believe it has something to do with the remote... thanks......oh yeah, the TV and Blu ray player were boughten this year

Hello.

You should be able to program your samsung blu-ray player's remote to work for your TV as long as it is a supported brand. I have attached a link to the manual for the AK59-00104R remote (the samsung blu-ray bdF5700 uses the slightly different AK59-00172A remote, but it should still work the same.) Just follow the directions in it to program your remote and you should have one that works for both your blu-ray player and TV. You can find the codes on pages 20 and 21 of the manual.

There is a free app called the Peel Universal Smart TV Remote that will allow you to turn your phone into a remote control that will operate both your television and your Blu-ray disc player.

with lg this is normal and there is nothing you can do beside to take the set in for a exchange or repair service- I have an lg device or two that has the same issue, it is the players not the remotes. if i find a solution i will update you good luck questions just ask

Press the BD RECEIVER/TV Button until it glows a Yellow color. Then the remote is set to control your Blu-ray. When it is green it is set to try and control your TV

On fornt of the player you have the buttons for opreation.You can use these buttons to operate your DVD player with out remote.

I have attached a image for your BD-P1600 player so your reference


1.DISC TRAY :Opens to accept a disc.
2.DISPLAY :Displays the playing status, time, etc.
3.Remote Control Sensor :Detects signals from the remote control.
4.OPEN/CLOSE BUTTON :Opens and closes the disc tray.
5.SEARCH/SKIP BUTTONS :Goes to the next title/chapter/track or goes back to the previous title/chapter/track.
6.STOP BUTTON :Stops disc playback.
7.PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON: Plays a disc or pauses playback.
8.POWER BUTTON :Turns the Blu-ray Disc Player on and off.
9.USB HOST:A USB memory flash stick can be connected here and used as storage when connected
to BD-LIVE. It can also be used for firmware upgrades and MP3/JPEG playback.

If you are trying to use the remote that came with the dvd player you most likely can't get it to work with the TV. If it IS in fact a universal remote, then you need to check the codes that come both with the tv and with the remote. Post back with any more questions or info for further help. if Samsung never included the brand Olevia on there remote, then its not going to work because it was never design to work with that brand. The only way to get around that is to get a learning remote or universal remote that has olevia pre program into the remote.. Olevia did come out with some learning remotes that is able to learn from other remotes.. the model its called Olevia RC-LRN ..
