I used to see mist coming out of the humidifer. Just set up for this year, changed the filter, etc. and there's no mist coming out. Is this ok?

That model number doesn't show up on Sunbeam's site. The only thing you get is a Cool Mist filter. But, this owner's manual in the attached link might be close.

cool mist humidifiers don't put out any mist. only the warm ones do. now if you put your hand over the area where it's coming out for about 2 minutes and take it away your hand should feel damp. almost clammy. if it feels like that the unit is working fine. so your not doing anything wrong. if you have any other concerns please let me know.

Turn on furnace and urn up humidistst to call for it. Tube from solenid to the filter should have water running if water is up to the valve and solinoid is opening . It should be warm to your touch., Using an ohm meter you can sheck the coil it shuold have continuity.

boogiecheck is right, the one pictured uses natural evaporation( no white dust) I just ordered one from [email protected] and mine works great. I own 3 total.

This type of humidifer is known as a flow through humidifer, when running water flows through it instead of sitting in a pan. The water draining is normal. This type of humidifer will use more water than a pan type but is much healthier due to the fact that you do not get all the build up of the pan type if you ever cleaned one. also change the water panel every year. to change the water panel there will be 2 screws on the bottom pan. Remove them and the panel will come out, buy a replacement at home depot or such store if available, otherwise from a htg company. Replacement is a little tricky to get it to line up so be patient. If you cant remove the bottom panel due to lack of room, it will come out through the top. You will have to loosen and swing the water feed tube out of the way. That is the only maintainace to this humdifier. Also with this humidifier all you have to do is turn the humidistat to off in the summer, you do not have to turn off the water as with float types. The Problem is minerals in the water. Impeller and ultrasonic designs send these minerals into the air. If the water in your area contains a lot of minerals, you will notice them as dust. The EPA does not issue health warnings about minerals in the air, but does recommend using low-mineral water (such as distilled water) in your humidifier. Many ultrasonic models feature a demineralization cartridge that filters minerals out of the water to prevent the dust.

I have the evenflo cool mist humidifier, model # 758100. There should be a model number on the unit. As far as replacement filters, you can buy the Holmes humidifier filter, model # HWF62. It's compatible with Evenflo. I bought a 2-pk at Target for $15.99. Hope this helps.
