You can recover data from hard drive with data recovery software. Then format the drive toget it fixed.
For data recovery program, here are two of the best Iused.

For Windows: http://www.any-data-recovery.com/index.htm
For Mac: http://www.stellarinfo.com/mac-data-recovery.htm

You can download one of them and scan your hard drive for free to previewwhether your files can be recovered. They will show you the file name, type, dateand of your files and thumbnails for your pictures that it found on yourdrive.

Hi, I have the Nikon Coolpix 3000 and I've recently had some problems. I have only had this camera since December; Several times I have tried to upload pictures and "this file contains no image...

You can try to reformat the sd card. Sometimes cards will contain data that disrupts the reading process.
Also, sometimes if you edit images on the pc, such as rotating them in Window's image viewer, it will rewrite the image as a jpeg that is unrecognized in the camera.
Lastly, check to see if the photos are being saved to the sd card or the camera.

File does not contain image data

Thats a good question. Can you view the same picture on your computer? have you edited the photos you are trying to view (even rotated them on the PC), or re-named them. If you have renamed them, you will need to change the name back to the same format as they were when taken EG: NI7000001 (similar number is OK, but must have the same amount of characters in filename) ..., connect computer and browse to folder where photos are, see if the ones you are trying to view are viewable on pc, and check their names. also see if the size of the ones you are trying to view are smaller or larger size, as they may be corrupt. I would copy them all off the camera and then format the card in the camera. A lot of problems occur when the card is not formatted for long periods of time.
