No turning on and off, or unplugging does not work.

There's absolutely no jam in mine but keeps saying ADF jam. Hope someone, anyone will get pass the suspicion that we MX-320 owners don't know what we're talking about, and are all dumb not knowing how to clear a paper jam. This is a known and super common glitch... There's gotta be a fix somewhere...

NOOOOO! Turning on and off, or unplugging does not work. Wouldn't anyone have tried that before spending the time to post a question?

Issue: ERROR LCD: DOCUMENT IN ADF
Solution: Remove foreign object from the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) - MX310
Check the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) for obstructions
Follow this procedure to check the ADF for obstructions. You do not need to turn off the power when clearing document jams.
Document jams in the ADF (Document Tray)

  1. Press <Stop/Reset>.

  2. If a multi-page document is loaded, remove any documents other than the jammed page from the ADF, then open the Feeder Cover.

  3. Remove the jammed page from under the roller to the Feeder Cover side.

    remjammed.gif
  4. Pull out the jammed document from the ADF. If the document cannot be easily pulled out, proceed to section Document jams in the ADF (inner side).

  5. After removing the jammed document or if a document is not jammed, check the document feed area to make sure there is no foreign material. If you find foreign material, carefully remove it.
  6. Close the Feeder Cover.

Note : If documents remain in the ADF after pressing the Stop/Reset button during scanning, "DOCUMENT IN ADF" appears on the LCD. Press the OK button so that the remaining document is automatically fed out.

When rescanning the document after clearing the error, rescan it from the first page.

Note: The document may not feed properly depending on the media type, or your environment, such as when the temperature and humidity are either too high or too low.
In this case, reduce the number of document pages to approximately half of the loading capacity. Another alternative is to scan from the platen glass
    .

  • If documents remain in the ADF after pressing <Stop/Reset> during scanning, [Document in ADF] will appear on the LCD. Press <OK> so that the remaining document is automatically fed out.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you; still learning my way around FixYa. If the jam is cleared, you need to reset your printer.

Issue: ERROR LCD: DOCUMENT IN ADF
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Solution: Press ON switch to reset the multifunction device

Reset the device when it is not functioning properly. If the device is not functioning properly or to clear memory, reset it.

On the operator panel, press the button. (The display will go blank.)

Note: It may be necessary to unplug the power cord if pressing the ON button does not shut off the printer.

Wait approximately ten seconds and then press the button again.

Wait until the device has completed its cycling process before submitting another job request.

Note: It may be necessary to unplug the power cord and retry if the above steps do not clear the error.

Would be interested to hear if this helps.

Hi I have Canon PIXMA MX320 Colour. How can I fax a document. Do I need to face down the document or not?

Hello!

Place the paper on the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) with the prints facing up.
Once it is loaded, press the fax button, enter the phone number then press the start button (the black or color button)

Cannot print screen shows ADF.what does this mean?

Hi!

ADF stands for Automatic Document Feeder and it means the device mounted on top of your pixma that allows multiple pages to be scanned/copied/faxed one at a time automatically.

Now why does it not print? The machine "believes" some document is inserted in the ADF in order to be scanned/copied/faxed, and wants that operation to be completed before it accept any print job. Please remove, if present, any paper from the ADF. Maybe its only some small piece of broken paper or even dust on the sensor in the ADF.

Good luck!

I bought a new Cannon PIXMA MX320 with no ink cartridge, the manual says that it requires PG-210 & CL-211, while the cannon site says it works with the PG-510 and CL-511. so my question is do they both...

Hi,

Cannon cartidge numbers are quite confusing to say the least, but your printer requires PG-510 and CL-511, PG is black and CL colour.

The 210/211 is a non european number, but they are the same as CL-511 and PG-510.

Hope this helps.

Canon mx320...i dont have a document jam but error message keeps saying remove documnet from adf file and eject documnet..i have checked all of my connections and turned the power off and on ..removed...

on the top of your printer, the ADF section (Automatic Document Feeder) where the documents is feed to for faxing, check if there is a paper stuck in it.
or better open the ADFcover and examine a latch switch make sure it is standing up right.
