Hitachi sound bar sbw-100 keeps shutting off on its own. Already on second unit. Any suggestions ?

Sounds like capacitor problem with right load volume switch

This sounds like a capacitor failure. Something that is all too common in the last 10 or so years. A good repair shop can probably fix this for $100 to $150. It's up to you if you think it's worth it or not.

I had the same problem. I found that my sound bar can't be too close to the TV. I have my samsung TV on a platform ( not mounted) and the sound bar in front of it. In this configuration, the sound bar kept shutting off. I returned it as a faulty unit and the second one did the same thing. By chance I happened to move the sound bar off of the tv platform and the problem ceased.

This certainly sounds like a software problem. If you haven't already done so, I would suggest you connect to Garmin.com, register your device, download/install the WebUpdater program, and check/update your software version.

Once your unit is current (or even if it already was), you should RESET the unit (rather than just letting it pick up from where it left off, as normally happens when you start it).

Some models have a RESET button on the bottom; others require you to turn the unit OFF, then slide the switch to ON and hold it for 8 seconds, until it restarts from scratch.

Check if the biggest electrolytic capacitor on the small psu subpanel with the standby transformer is bulged - on my unit, replacing this part restored normal operation.

if it still detectable then there's some possibilities you might revived your hard drive, but if you already hear some clicking sounds on your drive, the drive is broken

It sounds like you might either have a bad power cord or you might have an over heating issue. Some times the TV will automatically shut off if it senses a fan issue or it starts to overheat. What technology is your set? DLP, LCOS, DILA...? If its under warranty I'd suggest to get someone out asap to take a look at it.
