New F80 treadmill. Belt doesn't move after hitting START and LCD says "LS1 Low Speed". Interestingly, the treadmill actually did work properly for about 5 minutes of testing immediately after assembly. After turning it off and restarting, the above problem manifested itself. Any suggestions?

With no belt movement odds are it needs a Motor controll board. It could possiably be a bad motor. Pull the red and black wires from the motor to the MCB, hook the wires to a cordless drill battery, if the motor moves you need a MCB .

Hello,
I just repaired this on my F80 after the factory sent out almost all new replacement parts. In the end, this is what fixed the problem: (This will be easier if you use a friend).

1. Remove the shroud on the motor (at the front of the treadmill) by loosening two screws at the front and one on each side (Phillips).
2. Find the greenish control board (looks like a motherboard kinda). Locate a small green light at the top left of the board. With the machine on, slowly push the belt in the normal direction. The green light should flash.
3. If it flashes single flashes as you slowly push the belt, go on to #6.
4. If it double flashes as you push the belt, find the speed control. It is mounted on the opposite side of the machine from the board, near the edge of the front belt roller (on the left side of the treadmill if you're using it). It's a little black piece of plastic mounted with one phillips screw on the side of the motor box. Loosen the screw and adjust the speed controller as far as it will go toward the belt. It should be lined up parallel to the front roller edge. Now check the green light again by pushing the belt slowly. If it still double flashes, adjust the speed controller location a fraction of an inch back. Keep doing this until the green light only gives a single flash as you slowly push the belt. (I know it's tedious, but it's the only way).
5. Now try the treadmill. If it works, you're set. If it still throws a LS1 error, go to #6.
6. On the greenish control board, locate a round "diode" thingy with a blue top and a tiny round white phillips screw adjustment on the very top. This will probably be on the left side, center of the control board.
7. Turn on the machine and run the manual program at the lowest speed (.5 mph). Using a very small screwdriver, while the belt is running (CAREFUL!), adjust the tiny screw adjustment in very small increments clockwise. (If the screw were a clock, adjust only one clock number at a time). As you adjust, watch and listen to the belt and rollers. When the belt and rollers begin "surging" (you'll know it when it happens), back off the screw adjustment until the surging stops.
8. Stop the treadmill and have a friend get on. Using the manual setting at the slowest speed, have the friend walk on the treadmill. If it's surging or jerky, stop the walking and adjust the screw. Continue to do this until the belt is running smooth and there is not jerking.
9. Turn off the machine and restart. Try it out CAREFULLY! If needed, redo the calibration program. You should be all set.

Low speed fault

With belt movement check speed sensor. Without belt movement check MCB. If you neglected unit it could be belt and deck if its shutting down during a workout. I have also see a lot of on/ off switches getting old and causing LS errors due to low voltage to MCB

SOLE F80 TREADMILL STARTS TO RUN THEN STOPS. "LSI" OR "L51" APPEARS IN THE TIME BOX AND "LOW SPEED" APPEARS IN THE DISPLAY

SimplerFASTERSolution So, I had the same problem. After removing the motor cover I checked everything out per earlier instructions. Everything looked great. Having been a software geek for as long as I've been running (35 years), I as inclined to believe this wasn't a hardware problem at all. It appeared to me that the system just needed to be recalibrated. So...here's what I did. I turned the treadmill on and selected the "Manual" program and hit "Start". The monitor, as usual, counted down 3-2-1. As soon as the rollers started to move I hit the "Slow" button on the right upright several times so I knew that the treadmill was running at it's slowest speed. I then started walking on the belt. I started tapping the "Fast" button and let the belt gradually increase in speed and took it up to 6.0. No problem! But...nobody wants to start each workout that slowly. I had a hunch it was 'fixed'. So, I stopped the treadmill and turned everything off. I started it again, selected "Manual", immediately hit the "2" then he "4" then the "6" on the right hand "Speed" panel, and it ran like new. No service call, no new speed sensor, no fiddling with the little 'diode', etc. Give this a try first...no need to even remove the motor cover. Best of luck!

Belt wont start on a brand new Sole F80. Motor

It sound like the motor control board is the culprit. Unplug unit then remove shroud then find the 2 leads that connects the motor to the motor control board disconnect them then plug in unit and see if the display blackout after programing the display then hitting start.
