Question about Patton MH761 Utility Heater

1 Answer

Patton MH761 coil wire can these be replaced? The wire only heat about an 1/8 of the total length and does not produce much heat. I asked about it at the local hardware store and they indicated that the heater sell for about $20, just buy another one. It would seem a hardware store would stock a simple item like this that could be replaced. Are they available anywhere? I do not want to throw it away if it can be fixed.

Nickel Chrome hard wire in coils for heater element are not worth stocking as new complete heaters are very inexpensive and as a qualified electrician must fit it, to replace the heater element is not cost effective.

I have a manual and would be happy to upload a copy to you. I haven't found a Patton website yet. I'm ultimately hoping to find a place where I can buy replacement wheels for my Patton POH2501, but so far, no luck.

Let me know if you're still in need of the manual.

What is the max length of electric cord I can use with this machine?1800W 50Hz?

its not what is the max length you can use on this machine , as this one if it operates at 220 volt 50hz only draws a little over 8 amps , but how large the circuit supplying is fused for , as 200 ft of 16 ga power cord would provide a voltage drop to only 207 volts (vs 220 volts) this would now make your tool draw a little less than 9amps plus your tool is not operating at its full voltage/speed and it heats up more and does less work so will take longer to do same work
any cord length that produces a total current load to near or over 15 amps total load is gonna produce problems for both tool and operator

2003 ford windstar spark plug wires diagram

I\'m assuming you have the 3.8 engine, although i believe the firing order is the same on all there v6 sideways mounted front wheel drive Windstars. That firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6, with 1-2-3 going from left to right on the back side of the engine and 4-5-6 left to right on the front side of the engine.Looking straight down at the coil from the front of the car,you\'ll see 2 rows of coil terminals. The row on the right side is 1-2-3 going from top to bottom, row on left side is 6-5-4 going from top to bottom. Hook the number 1 coil terminal to the number 1 spark plug ,being careful to use the spark plug wire that is closest in length to the length you need. If your just replacing wires, yuo shouldn\'t have to much trouble. If your nreplacing the spark plugs you will find the ones in the rear, especially the number 2 [the middle one} are pretty difficult without removing the cowling. A total pain brought to you by the designers at Ford!

I am having trouble fiquiring out which wire goes to which plug. The wires are different lengths and the correct wire length has to go specifically with the correct plug. I have the firing order dia

The firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6
Cyl #1 is front left when looking at engine front to back
left coil pack connects to cyls. 5-2
center coil pack connects to cyls. 3-6
right coil pack connects to cyls. 4-1
It doesn't matter which connector on the coil you use just that the cylinder is connected to the proper coil pack (the coil fires both plugs at the same time, twice per each full 4 stroke cycle)

No heat is produced on any cycle

Check the fuse located in the back of the dryer. First unplug the dryer. Then take the back panel off. Now look for a white or tan piece with two wires going to it. It's about 3/8" wide and 1 1/2" long. This is your fuse. If you have no way to test it. You can connect the two wires going to it together, tape them so that they will not tuch anything and short out. Turn the dryer on and see if it heats. If it does, dont leave it like that. It a fuse. A safety devise. Replace it before you dry a load.

When the alarm on the Patton Electric Heater sounds, whay does one do to fix that?

This heater was the determined cause of my total loss house fire. I thought the company would atleast help me find some where else to live, they seem to care. But, as of lately they are doing nothing.
I am told this heater-(prh11- 2008 model- purchased at walmart for about $27.00)
- Had wiring that wasn't up to standards
-1/10,000 units cause fires
-something wrong with the heating element-stops working
- wouldn't stand level
-heating coils
-fires like mine have happened to a few other people
This came directly from a person at Jarden corporation(aka patton-sunbeam)
