First thing is first, Thank You for visiting our site!
The problem you
having is a HARDWARE issue with that push button interface in that HP.
what you can TRY
1. Take the
batteries out of it
2. Unplug it totally from power
3. Pu the battery back in then power it on
4. Then push that button
If those steps do not work the laptop will need a new interface touch board. What is happening is its not
recognizing your trying to turn the mute off.
The mute is off in the operating system DOES not
construe for a fact that the issue is resolved if the button is still orange.
You will need a new touch board if the reset does not work.
You might want to contact support.hp.com to have them send out a tech or have it
repaired by a
authorized HP repair center in your area.
