I have a Riccar 9900 which has had limited use for the last 10 years. Inspired to take up sewing again I plugged it in (slap hand for not dusting off and oiling), sewed a few samples then ironed the material I wanted to sew. Within 10 minutes there was a rank burning smell and smoke was coming from the machine. I unplugged and moved it out of the room. Does this sound as serious as I think? :-(((

I too have an J-C34 Riccar sewing machine. It was my grandmother's. I'm looking for a copy of the owner's manual. Do you have one?
