When I boot up all I get is a white screen - HP Mini 1000 Netbook

The Acer Chromebook may boot to a white screen with the Chrome logo due to a recent update. At this state, the Chromebook downloads and installs the update, and then boots normally within 30-40 minutes.
If there is no updating process going on and the Chromebook boots to a white screen, the following steps should help you resolve the issue. Keep a 4 GB USB flash drive and a computer connected to the internet ready.

• Press and hold the Esc and Refresh (F3) Keys. Simultaneously press the power button. The Chromebook boots to the Developer mode.
• Note down the model number displayed at the bottom of the screen.
• Insert the USB Recovery Flash Drive into your Chromebook.
• Wait for about 10 minutes while the system recovers from the USB flash drive.
• Disconnect the USB flash driver once the recovery is complete. The Chromebook restarts automatically.
• Follow the prompts on the Welcome screen.

Typically this white screen is due to a file system check running. If you boot in to single user mode (boot holding down the S key) you can run a manual file system check by typing in "fsck -f -y" (no quotes). This will run file system check -fix -yes to all

Remove any box being used and unplug it--with no OSD problem is on main signal and digital board.

Try booting up from a recovery boot up CD. This will test whether it is a hardware or software issue. If there's no white screen with the CD boot, then it could be a malware or some other driver/program corruption. If however, the white screen still shows up during a CD boot, then it could be an overheating issue due to a cooling fan blockage (the fan may not turn on at all). Or it could be the monitor itself in which case I'd suggest you try connecting the laptop to an external (LCD) monitor and see if the problem then persists. Hope it all goes well for you. This must surely be a problem with your monitor, because you say that you see the white screen while boot up. If this is a graphic driver issue, you may have the problem after booting up in windows. Since its been only a month old laptop, the product must be in warranty for sure. Take away any CDs in the drive, any USB drives and see if this white screen appears. Let us know.

My cell w550i shows white screen no boot screen

It is likely to be either a faulty screen or a faulty screen cable. As the backlight is working and only the data is missing.
