Good sign. Means the LCD monitor is working. Bad sign. Means the video signal from the computer isn't getting to the monitor. Start by using a known to be good monitor cable in place of the one you're using now. Borrow one from another computer setup for a test, or use the old monitor, and it's cable, if the monitor is good. Same thing? Problem with the computer. One of the largest causes of computer failure is a bad Power Supply. Second cause is the computer is dirty inside, as well as the Power Supply. Wish to know more? Please post the computer manufacturer's name, and Model Number. Back of a desktop computer tower next to the Windows product key, or up on the side of the computer tower.

SOURCE: Can't see screen to install diver for HP Compaq WF 1907

My friend just purchase this monitor yesterday. When she plugged it in to the back of the tower she received the same prompt u have mentioned. I was able to repair it because she simply did not realize that I had installed a new graphics card into her pc a few months ago. When u do this, you have to hook your monitor into the area where the new graphics card was installed. You can not plug your monitor into the same onboard card that u have previously plugged your monitor into.
Let me know, if by chance, u did install a new graphics card.
Hope this was helpful :)

I have bought a mew computer with a Sansung screem type LS19A300. It was working normaly and then a message "check signal cable" appeared. I checked all cables and nothing. So we changed the new...

Hi, what was the LCD displaying is that he is not sensing any signal from the computer video port that is why it is prompting "check signal cable". Have you tried checking the pins of your video cable from your LCD? if OK please plug in the cable again when your PC is already open to check that signal will pass thru and lets see what happen. If still the same, try to isolate it with laptop as external video if you have to check the LCD will work with other PC. If the same, replace the signal cable of your LCD if it is removable to further check the problem.

Acer al1922 monitor no signal:

If it does the same with other PC then you need to open it up and first thing to look for are bad caps in the power supply, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps, transistors, transformers, lamps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside, and always replace with good quality caps such as PANASONIC FM or FC series from DIGIKEY.

The monitor is going itself to the Power Saver mode.It is not a problem of the monitor. This happens when there is no signal on the monitor. The monitor will display properly when there is an output signal on it.Please connect it to the computer and check that the output signals from the motherboard are proper. Also check both DVI (Digital Visual Interface) and VGA (Video Graphics Array)cables on the monitor.

MY POWER LIGHT KEEPS BLINKING ON AND OFF BUT MONITOR WILL NOT TURN ON..WILL NOT EVEN GO IN POWER SAVE MODE

Sounds like there is a power supply problem inside the monitor. Is the signal cable from the computer securely installed? It may be time for that new LCD monitor that you were looking at!

You shouldn't have wasted your money on that card. Just try replacing the cable first.

No Signal

Probably the settings on the computer graphics card output.
You need to selct the external screen.

Just to be sure it's not a screen fault, are you able to test it on another PC (desktop, not laptop)?

Monitor goes black

Sorry to have to tell you this, but this is common in LCD monitors. The reason that it is going black when it boots is for one of two reasons. You either have a bad power supply that powers your LCD or your LCD's backlight is blown. These can be repaired or you can purchase a new one. But if it goes black 9 times out of 10 is because the backlight is bad. These can be repaired!
