CHance are the keyboard is in NUM LOCK or PAD LOCK mode. To fix it, shut off Num Lock, which is usually the blue "Fn" key and the key with the blue Num Lock words on it. It varies by laptop.
Once out of Num Lock mode, the keyboard will behave normally.

Please take the Handset to the nearest repair place/Service centre who can change the keypad and tell them check the keypad.

They will be able to suggest you what needs to be done.

maybe there is some dirt under the "9"-at ebay you can get a new keypad
(with instructions and tools to get it fixed,of course).try it,it is not too hard!
