Water-inlet valve 100 percent sure happened to mine

1)
First make sure the water is turned on. Check the hot-water supply stop
valve, normally located under the sink. Open it all the way by turning
it counterclockwise. If there is no reason this would have been turned
off since the last time the dishwasher worked, go on to the next step.
2) Turn off the power to the dishwasher.
3)
When the dishwasher is cool, look for the float inside the dishwasher;
this is usually a small plastic dome or cylinder mounted inside at the
tub's base, near the front. When you move most types of floats up and
down, you can hear them click because they trip a lever (they are
spring-loaded).
Lift
out the float mechanism, and clean around the float tube. Many floats
must be disconnected from below; to do this you'll have to remove the
lower access panel. Rinse off the float, replace it in the tube, and
make sure it moves up and down freely.
4)
If you're experienced with minor repair work, shut off the hot-water
valve to the appliance. Locate the water intake valve, behind the
dishwasher's bottom front panel; disassemble the valve to reveal the
screen; clean debris from the screen; and reassemble. If the screen
doesn't appear to be blocked, call a repairperson (he or she will
probably need to replace the water intake valve).
5)
If none of this helps, call a repairperson. Any of several
parts—including the water inlet valve, pressure switch, and the timer
or selector switch—may be faulty.
At the
bottom left or right of the dishwasher, there's a water-inlet valve
behind the access panel. This valve lets water flow into the dishwasher
for the wash cycle. It is usually attached to the hot-water supply
line, and to a tube that is then attached to the left or right side of
the dishwasher. When the timer sends electricity to the valve, it opens
and lets water into the dishwasher. The valve stops when the water
level trips the float switch or when the timer stops sending
electricity to the valve.
You will have to access this by removing the door from the front, not from the back. Here is an illustration to help you:

The last letter refers to the colour of the appliance.
P = Polar (white)
S = Silver
N = Natural Linen (Beige)

For the part you are looking for it doesnt matter you can use any of the models as i am showing in my parts guide they are all the same model replacement part. The letter just represents what style control unit it has.
Most washing machines have the rating plate behind the door, either on the inside of the door (don't forget to check near the hinge) or on the door frame of the cabinet. Some hide it behind the kickplate at the base (front) Be careful if removing the front kickplate on cheap machines as they are often thin and the lugs easily break.
If you still can't find it, check behind the pump filter flap or door (if fitted) at the front of the machine. Other than that you would need to check the sides and back of the machine.
Hope that helps........
Hi,
If your dishwasher seems noisy, check these:
Water-inlet valve
Motor
Heater fan
Pump
Water-inlet valve
An
aging water-inlet valve can sometimes fail slowly, rather than all at
once. It can shudder on and off rapidly, causing the incoming water
lines to shake, rumble, and rattle--sometimes violently. If yours is
doing this, replace the inlet valve.
Motor
If it's the motor that's noisy, either of these may be the "culprit:"
Heater fan
If
the heater fan bearings are rusted or worn, they may squeal, or scrape
loudly during the drying cycle. If this is the problem, replace the fan
motor. Alternatively, the fan blade may be loose. If so, you need to
replace it.
Pump
Small
fruit pits, toothpicks, and fragments of glass sometimes get stuck in
the pump. When this happens, open the pump and remove the debris. The
pump is usually mounted directly to the motor, then attached to the
bottom of the dishwasher.
To get to the pump, you usually need
to remove the lower rack, the spray arms, and the spray arm support
from the inside of your dishwasher. A dishwasher pump isn't obvious.
Look for an impeller--a round, plastic fan blade-type device that spins
around and pushes the water toward the drain. When you can see the
drain impeller, you should be able to see the clogging debris.
If there's no water entering your dishwasher, check these:
Water-inlet valve
Float switch
Water-inlet valve
The
water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. If this valve is
defective, you need to completely replace it. It's usually located
behind the lower access panel on the left or right side. It's the
device with the main water line (usually copper) from the house, a
rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it.
Float switch
The
float switch is a small electrical switch that's located right below
the dishwasher "floor." Above the switch, on the inside of the
dishwasher, is a plastic cylinder that floats up as water fills the
dishwasher. If this switch is defective, or if the plastic float gets
caught or trapped in the raised position, the water can't enter the
dishwasher. If the float switch is defective, you need to replace it.
Ok,I'll let you know if the parts are available for your model.

Thanks for sugesting replacing the water inley valve. I have found that to order the correct valve I need to know if the machine is a DWF33N a
DWF33P or a DWF33S. I can not find this on the machine. The serial number is-
5600041012/03/56/10:11 can you help identify the type of machine it is?
Thanks for that. The number was inside the door , on the top edge. The number is DWF33P. Now I can buy the water valve as you recommended. But the machine looks all sealed up at the back. Where is the valve? How do I get to it?
Thanks Paul
Where is the water inlet valve situated in a Hotpoint Aquarius DWF33P? What must I remove to see the valve?
Which panels do I take off to get access to the water inlet valve and the float switch?
Thanks for your help
Hi
The machine seems to be all sealed up with no way to see switches, pumps or motors. I took off the plastic kick plates at the front of the machine but there is no access panel at the front. I never did find the float switch. The water inlet valve is at the rear of the machine. The water inlet valve is mounted on the only removable access panel that I found on the machine. It is a small plastic panel. I replaced the water inlet valve and the machine filled OK. Job done. Thanks for everyone's help.
Paul
Well played chris.
