Ello. My PSP won't read UMDs. The loading

Most likely the laser is weak. It has been awhile since I have changed a laser in a psp. But first off you should clean the laser with a q-tip and isopropyl alcohol and dry it with the other end of the q-tip. It doesn't take much for them to not be able to read a disc. If it still doesn't work you will need to replace the laser if you aren't that great at working on electronics or very small things you need to find someone to do it for you.

When I switch on my PSP, it directly goes onto load the UMD game and when I try to quit using HOME button, the buttons and consoles dont work. Then I need to use the hold button after which though the...

Hi. Since you're in UMD Autoload mode, you need to configure that in the PSP Settings. To do this, turn off your PSP and remove your UMD. Now, turn it back on and it won't autoload your UMD since it wasn't there anymore.
Now, go to "Settings" and scroll down to "System Settings" and press X. Scroll down again the selection until you see "UMD Auto-Start" and press X. At the right side will appear the options "ON" and "OFF". Select "OFF" and press O button several times to go back to main screen.
Insert your UMD. Now, try playing games from Memory Stick. You may have to turn off your PSP and turn it on again to finally play homebrew...
I hope this helps...

How to fix my psp 2004 problem the game could not be started (80020321) pls help,

This error is appearing because there is a setting in the hidden configuration menu that is set to require a UMD game disc to be in the PSP when it attempts to load.

Turn off the PSP, then hold the R button down while turning on the system. You will be in the Recovery mode/Configuration menu. Choose configuration, then go to the 5th option, and press X once. This will switch it to "NO UMD". Then press X on "Back", then "Exit". Once you restart you should be able to load the ISOs, CSOs etc. without getting the 80020321 error.

Hope this helps you!

My psp isnt playing a brand new game. it wont load the umd. the umd is pretty clean. i wait for it to load and it wont.

Below where the UMD game appears on screen try the button below that should say 'Update PSP'. The game could have an update for the PSP and won't play without it. If this doesn't work contact Sony Website Forums and see if anybody there has had the problem.

Where is the UMD?

UMD is Universal Media Disc, its a small disc are used for PSP.  press the "eject" button on the top to open the disc tray. Usually the problem its not from the UMD, but from the console.

The first check the version you are running on psp, >> Go to the PSP Menu and move across to the "Settings Menu". Scroll down, select to "System Settings" >> "System Information" and you should see version of your PSP. If the UMD has a high version than ur console, u need to update ur psp.

plz visit my blog, for psp update guide.

My UMD icon dont appear when i put a game on it

I think the lens might have died permanantely, or maybe just it's temporary. I've also had the same problem, and one time I turned it on, it started working again. Wait about a day and see if it still happens.
