Rosen Entertainment Center

Does not read my DVD - will not play anything
I bought a '06 Dodge Caravan in '07 that had the Rosen Entertainment Center installed. There was no paperwork or remote control with this system. How do I find out if it is still under warranty and how do I find a local repairman. My zip code is 29745. My e-mail address is [email protected]

SOURCE: dvd player hangs up while playing

Sir I dont think its the dvd that is not working I thisnk its the screen that is starting to fail, it can be that the dvd is not sending the video signal to the screen when you open it and thatt is why you only get the blue screen and nothing else, because if the dvd was not working let it be the laser or a motor the most common message that you get in the screen is no disc, but that is not your case so I would have the screen check on that portable dvd.

SOURCE: no power to Rosen DVD

Hello and Good day to you.

Please Follow this procedure for trouble shooting.

  1. Remove the cover of your DVD player by Loosening all screws.
  2. Check the input voltage of the power supply 220v/120v AC.If don't have input supply that comes from the ac cord,replace it.
  3. If you have a input voltage supply comes from the power cord.Check the output voltage of the power supply such as 5vdc and 12vdc.
  4. If you don't have output voltage from the power supply.Check the fuse if busted,check open/change value of capacitor,check power transistor (regulator) if shorted and leak/bulging top capacitor of the power supply board.If you found any defective parts replace it.
  5. If you have output voltage comes from the power supply.The problem could be the main board,replace it.
  6. If you already done this procedure,test it by power ON the DVD player.

I have a Rosen entertainment DVD system and it keeps displaying Damaged Disc every time I put a disc in the player. It won't play any discs.
It has either a dirty or bad optical pickup unit (the part that reads the disc) and usually parts are not sold (only a complete DVD section if even available)

If not dirty may be cheaper just to replace the player itself.

Dvd reads no disk
Yes others have reported this problem, it is a hardware failure in the player, you will need to remove it and send it in to a factory approved repair center, you can't fix this at home, you would need the repair manual and the parts, neither of which you can buy unless you are an approved shop.

I would recommend resetting the Rosen unit. This is done by entering the "Menu" and pressing "Settings". From this screen, you select "Keypad" in the top right corner of the screen and then enter "7-5-2-3" and press "Enter". This should erase any code for Parental Control (levels 0 - 8). Also, the Rosen product states to only use "Store bought media" for CD's and DVD's meaning that it won't play all 'burned' discs. Hope this helps.- Elliot

Rosen entertainment DVD player in a '04 Yukon will not eject
One of the biggest problem facing CD/DVD players are the drive mechanism. When the stay shut or chatter when you try and open them, means the through mechanism that ejects the tray will not push the holding tray open. If you want to open the tray by hand, there is a small hole whereby you can push a pin or paperclip into and push open the tray by hand. That is the only way to open and hand shut the tray into the player and get it operational. Other than that, replace the DVD device...no other choice.

Parking brake by pass for my VW Jetta
on your main screen, change your source to "A/V In".. you should get a black screen. Touch the upper right corner of the touch screen and it'll pull up a number menu.
