Maytag Neptune MAH5500BWW will not spin out. Unplugged to reset and all lights will blink and set to pause. When you press start, it eventually clicks like it is locking to start, machine turns off and resets to pause. I did notice an error message of PF on the screen at one time. How do I get it to spin and operate?

17 The door / cover switch has not been opened since the last two last revolutions. The door did not open after two complete washing cycles. The door switch has not been opened since the last two revolutions. Displays "od". If the door is open, the error disappears. Check the door lock probably bad.

Also you might need to reset it.

Press power/cancel then start/pause

1. Press power/cancel first.
2. Next, pick a fresh cycle to run.
3. Press start/pause to reset your Maytag washer.
4. Run a test load afterward to confirm that the washer has reset.

Sounds like control board is defective

Take a look at this webpage for information on the Neptune no spin problem.

Replace door lock assembly. Serial number is needed for the correct part number.

Do you hear a double beep sound when depressing any of the other buttons? If so you most likely have a defective key panel. If nothing happens at all, it may be the home control board (inside the control panel). Before you replace the board, try this diagnostics test,
Press and hold the hand wash key and the heavy soil keys for 3 seconds. The display should go to "00" next press the spin only key and the machine should run a quick spin test. When this completes press the "off" key to exit service mode.
Now try the machine, and hopefully you have cleared it's software glitch.

Mine was not spinning and shutting off at the 7 minute mark. I took off the door and then the front panel. I reached underneath to the pump. There is a soft black rubber hose going from the tub to the pump. I squeezed it several times and must of unplugged the pump because it worked after that. Zero$ spent.

If your washer doesn't seem to work at all, check these:

No power
Lid switch
No power Check to see whether power is getting to the washing machine. Is it plugged in? Has a fuse blown or is a circuit breaker tripped?

Lid switch If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

Some machines have a special lid-switch fuse near the lid switch, inside the control panel. If this fuse blows, the unit won't fill with water until you replace the fuse.
