REVERSE IMAGE ON SONY VIDEO PROJECTOR

I HAVE A SONY VPH-1030Q1/2030Q1 VIDEO PROJECTOR. IS IT POSSIBLE TO REVERSE THE IMAGE TO USE ON A REAR SCREEN APPLICATION? I HAVE IT SET UP OUTSIDE BY THE POOL AND IT WORKS GREAT ON THE DA-LITE REAR PROJECTION SCREEN, BUT THE IMAGES ARE BACKWARDS. IF THE SYSTEM CAN NOT REVERSE THE IMAGE FOR REAR PROJECTION, IS THERE AN AFTERMARKET DEVICE THAT I CAN USE TO ACCOMPLISH THIS? IF SO, WHERE CAN I GET ONE AND HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? OR DO YOU HAVE A BETTER IDEA? THANKS, BILLY MUSSETT, 580-286-6366, [email protected].

SOURCE: Sony cineza vpl hs51 projector won't project

Something I found interesting from the internet - lamp life isn't when the bulb dies, but when a bulb has lost 10% of its brightness - so you might well be able to reset the timer and get much more use from the bulb - the image just wont be as bright.

The lamp may not have been changed - just the timer reset - How many hours has the lamp really done - 1000, 3000, 5000?
If you know that the hours are genuine, then was the quartz bulb contaminated with a touch of oil from skin contact?
This will substantially shorten lamp life, due to the quartz going milky and opaque.
The easiest way to check, is to pull the lamp and have a look at the bulb.

If need be replace the lamp and reset the lamp timer.

These instructions are for a Sony Cineza VPL HS3, but may be the same for the HS51
1st thing to check - is the cover properly/completely closed - this can stop the projector from working.
Connect the power and set the projector to standby mode.
Press these buttons on the remote control in this order, for less than 5 seconds each.
Reset - Left Arrow - Right Arrow - Enter

SOURCE: Dell 4100MP Image Not Centered Thru Lens

No to your question. The lens is fixed it cannot shift horizontally only although there are projectors that can do this. I am sure you have the front foot retracted? I have had to do the same as you are doing or find a lower table.

Sony VPH D50Q projector doesn't see signals above 480i

HI Tom,

For some reason I cannot reply to other inquiry would you please close the problem, I am glad that the configurations worked out for you.

In order to configure the proyector for hd video you would need to change a couple of things in your set up.

First you would need to use hd cables, and not the rgb. You can purchase some standard high def cables at any best buy or radioshack, depending on the source device there is the standard high def out, the set of 5 cables, 3 video plus the 2 audio.

To enable the unit to support the progressive DVD signal, perform the following
procedure.

Connect the DVD player’s component output into Input A.
In the SET SETTING menu select HDTV-YPbPr for Input A.
In the INPUT SETTING menu highlight Sync and select EXT (HV).
The IDTV module disables itself automatically

Perform this procedure with nothing connected to the component input on the projector, otherwise you will get the an off/on flickering screen which prevents you from seing what you are doing when navigating the menu screens. Perform the procedure and then connect.

Let me know if you need anything else,

Al

MY VIDEO PROJECTOR SONY VPL -HS10, CONNECTED TO COMPONENT VIDEO OUTPUTS IS DIPLAYING DATA ON THE SCREEN UPSIDE DOWN. HOW DO I CHANGE THIS PLEASE

There should be a menu option for orientation. The selection may be for ceiling vs standard. You have the unit set for ceiling mount.

Wondering if moisture can mess up a projector

Absolutely. The circuitry can "short out" on the controller boards.

A Pelican watertight case or similar is your best best.
They're not too expensive... but a new projector is more expensive.
Here's their site with different models available.
