Toshiba error codes - flashing LED

Flashing LED on Toshiba Tecra 9100. Reads as 01001001 which I believe is 49h but can not find what this relates to.

The codes are not the same for every model and I don't have anything on the 2805, but many of the codes are similar between models. Normally, this would indicate a problem on the main board (expensive) or the battery board (cheaper). Here is the section from the 5105 manual:

DC IN

Error code
Meaning

10h
AC Adaptor output voltage is more than 16.5 V.

12h
Current from the DC power supply is more than the limit (6.05 A).

13h
Current from the DC power supply is more than the limit (0.5 A) when there is no load.

14h
Current sensing IC is not normal.


Main Battery

Error code
Meaning

Main battery charge current is more than 6.05 A.

22h
Main battery discharge current is more than 0.5 A when there is no load.

TECRA 9100 service manual

have a toshiba tekra 9100..the problem is that it when i turn it on it indicates that its on but the screen remains off when i try it after a while it manages to turn on bu wont boot sometimes it displaysi/o channel error or it sometimes gets past that but pauses when loading the o.s .what could be the solution for this problem

What a work..... sry --
Find another Tecra 9100 and use that machine for spare parts.
They are very cheap today, 100 euro max second hand, perhaps without HD.
Its the system-board, a chip there.

I Buy toshibas with this fault for my family and send them to a nice bloke (ex toshiba Tech ) who fixes them fo £45 I can get a good working lappy for 75 - 80 quid

CD-RW/DVD-ROM can not read and CD or DVD

yes..it's most likely kaput. I have a tecra, and I'm on my second CD/DVD replacement. They are easy to find and replace(one screw underneath, and just slide em out)..
