Cheaper to buy a new Microwave oven.

The buzzing sound could be from loose laminations on the high voltage transformer, or from loose mounting screws for the transformer. This requires investigation by a qualified technician as there are lethal voltages associated with the transformer. It could also be from a loose cover. First check that all the cover screws are tight.

This is a strong indicator the magnetron is fried, also! this is the most expensive part to replace in the microwave oven, and in most cases cheaper to replace the whole unit.

The problem is most likely caused by a defective magnetron that "heats the food" is loading down the high voltage transformer causing it to make a loud buzzing sound. The cost to repair (depending on make and model) will probably approach the cost of a new microwave oven when you factor parts and labor.

A capacitor generally causes the buzzing sound. Look for the buzzing part or a buldging top on a capacitor

Sounds like the magnetron just shorted out. Its the part the generates the microwaves that heat the food. Buzzing sounds are a symptom of a shorted mag. Usually not worth fixing since the magnetron costs almost as much as a new oven. Sorry.

Have you tried putting a cup of water in it and cooking on a low power level? If it buzzes only when it is on the cook cycle, that would narrow it down. More detals might help us help you, including the model number.
