I just went through this. I'm guessing you have the dora.exe file on your desktop? Try right-clicking on the file, and then select "run as administrator". It should let you follow the instructions from the website from that point on.

I doubt that this has nothing to do with counterfeiting and you will get a little box in the bottom right hand side of the screen saying so.
The problem should be fixed by running a System Restore and take the machine back to a date before the problems occurred.
Be sure to backup your documents and music. Don't wanna lose those.
