I have forgotten the code for my code lock which is on my bedroom door.

Go to home depot and buy a privacy lock.

Use a credit card and push it in at the latch, between the door and the frame holding the door away from you, while pushing the card inward onto the latch ramp wiggle the door in and out until the card slides all the way in and pushes the latch into its receiver and door will open.

look for a small whole like screw whole twisting it around should open it did it before allot of times.

hello joan. check to be sure that the door properly latches when it opens and closes with out locking it at all. sometimes the latch does not easily and freely go into the latch hole as the latch hole needs to be adjusted. joe

Look closely at the door knob and you will see a very small hole in the middle of the door knob. Use a piece of stiff metal such as a heavy paper clip straightened out and push it into that hole. that will unlock the door to your bedroom if you have a normal bedroom door lock.

Door locksets are really inexpensive in the "box" stores---cheaper to replace the whole lock than trying to find parts.

Check to see if the wood or the lock is binding. Try this:

Leave door open and turn on heat. After a few hours, try to close door and see if it's catching on the frame. If it is, plane the door where it is binding. You can check for binding by using chalk on the door and after closing it, see where the scrub marks are.

If it's the lock, take out the striker plate and using a chisel, make the cut out deeper. Install the striker plate and test it again.
