I believe this works - I've yet to try it myself! Coby DVD-755 1 user region code/hacks August 13, 2007 Post region code/hack comment Region code hack posted by Peter, August 13 2007: DVD -755 from Walmart home theatre for $79.00 1-Press ?Setup? 2-Press Vol +, Vol-, Vol +, Vol -, 3-Number shows up 4-Change the region code by using RIGHT arrow. 5=Press ?Setup? to exit. Succesfuly tested bt Peter F.

    I tried this to unlock mine....do you have to have the tray open or closed? Should it have the DVD I'm trying to play in it or empty? When I try to push the volume /- it has the "no smoking" sign that comes up in the top right corner, like the action is not valid. What am I doing wrong??

Im assuming you want to unlock you DVD player so thats its region free??

Try this:

Coby DVD-R1200
  1. The disc tray has to be empty
  2. Press RETURN
  3. Press INFO
  4. Enter 8, 8, 8, X (X is the region code, 0 = multi-region)
  5. Press ENTER (or RETURN)

Step 1- open the DVD tray
Step 2- Press the "MENU" button on the remote control
Step 3- Press" 8888"
Step 4- Press the " DISPLAY" button

My portable coby dvd player is showing an error message reading 'Wrong Regional Disc' this message shows to all dvds i have tried. all the dvds are region 2 and the bottom of the dvd player has the regio 2...
1. Press SETUP
2. Press FFW, F REW, NEXT, PREVIOUS
3. Change the code to 255 using the RIGHT arrow key

This will unlock the DVD player for all regions.

It was adwertised as a region free, but it isn't
sames for COBY DVD-207, press setup, then volume +, then volume -, then volume +, then volume -, use the arrow buttons on the remote to skip from region 1 to the # 255 for all regions and press setup to leave this menu.
