Mission ms8/ms10 I have had my subwoofer unpluged for sometime now. I plugged it in today and I had no power. Has anyone had this problem thanks [email protected]
The power output of my MS8 is burnt. I have tried to get it fix but the repair man is telling me that he cannot get parts anywhere. I have contacted mission in the UK and here is mission answer. This is my question to them. I have a problem with my subwoofer. The power output module is burnt and the repair man is telling me that he cannot get parts here in Canada. I know that Mission speakers used to be distributed by Denon here in Canada but it is not the case anymore. Would it be possible for you to give me an addresse here in Montreal Canada where I could get my MS8 fixed. It is very odd to see that my sub was made in Canada and that we cannot get parts for it. I do like my Mission speakers very much and would hate to scrap it due to lack of support/parts. Thanks Dear Roger i'm afraid that we no longer have any parts available for the ms8 sub. Yes you are correct they were made in canada and it was the canadian manufactuer that withdrew this part. Regards Nicki Dear Roger As this sub was made prior to the IAG purchase of Mission in 2005 I'm afraid that there are no plans to make a replacement amp for this sub. Silly question but did you check the fuse and if so is the sub pluged into the sub out put on your amp and not the sub six channel input as this will result in no sound.
hope this helps.

The ms 10 is an active sub, so all you should do is connect the Subwoofer output on the rear of your amp to the LFE input on the sub with a simple audio cable.
Hi, yes there is a rather simple method for testing the actual subwoofer unit, simply plug in a known good rca cord into the input-make sure if there is a switch for level input that it is on the back make sure it is switched to line and not level, next plug in rca cord, turn on unit-stick tip of finger on tip of rca cable. This should gernerate a"HUMM" in the subwoofer if everything is working correctly. Thanks for choosing FixYa, I hope this was of some help, good luck Prodzilla.
I got the same problem yesterday. I just unplugged the power from the subwoofer, then plugged today. Now the lights stayed a little longer then yesterday, but goes out again a little later. So I just unplugged and wait ultil tomorrow then I'll try again.
Anything in the power supply will cause it, look for damage or burnt parts, anything on heatsink. A transistor with a short circuit. For instance if you put an ohm meter probe to the leg of one and the other probe on to another leg, it will be read on the meter as if you had put your probes on the same leg.

Dear Roger
As this sub was made prior to the IAG purchase of Mission in 2005 I'm afraid that there are no plans to make a replacement amp for this sub.
