I purchased a linksys E1000 to operate with my laptop which is a Toshiba Satellite Pro with Windows XP the computer does not have a wireless card and I use a Belkin pleg-in for wireless connections working off someone elses router and that works. When I put the cd in ane run it it will not install. Is there a solution to this situation other than finding someome with a laptop to come to my house and install this on my cable modem

Hi,
Most of the times you would be right when you say its a driver issue. :)
But there are certainly few steps that you can try as in -
a) Making an other third party program manage wireless on your XP SP2 machine
b) Tweaking the wireless channels to check if there is interference(this must have minimal impact as you already state that its working with everything else).
Try downloading a third part freeware to manage your wireless connections and uninstall the arheros client.
But before doing this try with windows client as well.
What is make and manufacturer of the XPSP2 machine??
