I had a memory card that got full and the camera switched to internal memory. It is also full. I took out the card and used another camera to delete some pictures. When I put the card back into my camera, it will not switch back to the memory card. The delete button will not delete from the internal memory, and Can not get the menu to come up.

Delete/ or move some pictures from internal memory or if the camera has external memory set your camera storage option to external memory/memory card.
Good Luck
took the memory card out and then turn on the camera. NOw select photos and delete them. Internal memory can not be formatted. You need to delete them one by one or select all and then delete them.
OK, the problem is most likely that the internal storage(NOT the memory card) is full, hence only 4-5 photos. What you need to do is to remove the memory card from the camera, then connect the camera to the computer via the USB cable.
Once you have connected the camera, copy the photos from the camera to your computer, once you have done the copy process, you need to delete the photos off the camera.
If you have competed the above instructions, you can insert the memory card into the camera and the problem should be resolved.

4GB "SD" cards are almost always actually SDHC (high capacity) cards. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different electrically. Many cameras won't work with SDHC cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.
So your camera is not able to use the 4GB card, and is ignoring it and using internal memory only. That memory is tiny and won't hold many pictures, and when it is full, the camera cannot work at all. You need to delete the pics in the internal memory and get a memory card your camera can understand (2GB or less).
Your memory card or internal memory may be full. I've run into situations where the card full doesn't flash on the monitor or LCD screen because there is lets say 3 gigs of memory left but the picture you are taking is 3.5gig's it won't take the picture because there isn't enough memory to put the image anywhere. Download your pictures to your computer, format your memory card and all should be good again. If you are using the internal memory you will need to obtain (buy) a memory card for your camera and download from the internal memory each picture from the memory card one by one until all the internal pictures are on the removable memory card then download these to the computer. After you have them on the computer go back into the internal memory and delete each of thse pictures and you are ready to start taking pictures once again. it took me longer to type this then the process will take to do.
The camera has a small internal memory that you can use to store photos on. The internal memory is normally not enough to take a lot of photos. You are able to delete the current photos by erasing the memory or deleting the photos one by one.
The solution is to purchase a memory card. I would recommend a 4 Gb SD Card.
With the extra space the memory card provides it will take a while before you run out of memory. When the card is starting to get full download all the images to your computer and erase the SD Card.
OK, you can switch to your memory card's memory if you have one installed. The Internal memory is sparse and small compared to say a 2 gigabyte memory card.
Also, delete the internal memory pictures if you're set on using that type of memory.
Take out memory card from camera, format internal memory to delete all pictures at once or delete them one by one. Once memory card is inserted in camera, internal memory is no longer available to store/ delete pictures so remove memory card from camera to get access to internal memory.
The cause and solution may include one of the following:
The camera internal memory or card is full. Transfer pictures to the computer, delete pictures from the camera, switch storage locations, or insert a memory card with available memory.
The camera processing memory is full. Wait, and resume picture taking when the light turns green.
The card is read-only. Change the storage location to internal memory or use a different card.
