I am trying to create a DVD from .avi file that I downloaded from my digital video camera. Every time I try to burn the DVD using Windows DVD maker or publish using Windows Movie Maker Vista crashes after a few minutes.
I am using Vista Home Premium on HP Pavilion dv9700 with AMD Turion 64.
Any help will be appreciated
I just found out the problem.
I have nero 7 installed on vista. To fix the vista movie maker crash when rendering, I just renamed this folder
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter
Renamed DSFilter to something else. VMM no longer crashes and when I want to use Nero again, just rename DSFilter back to normal.
My Window's Movie Maker crashes when I go to make a DVD.
Ay-Cee
I don't have an "ahead" folder WHERE IS IT?! lol i can't find it anywhere, not in the common files, not in any other folder help!

please help!
Hi,
I did not have Nero, so that was not the problem.
It took me 2 trips to Best Buy service and the motherboard, cpu, fan and keyboard were replaced.
Finally I can create movies and burn them. I have made 2 so far and hopefully the problem will not be back.
Thanks for your suggestion.
that fix didnt work :S
