Hi, These machines are generally not sold but placed in workplaces where coffee capsules are supplied at a premium price, which includes servicing of the machine.
There is a built-in cup counter which is intended to stop the machine from working after some 5000 cups have been supplied. At this point the "machine blocked" message is displayed and the machine becomes unuseable until an overhaul has been accomplished, and the cup counter re-set. If the machine is in the premises to which it was delivered, a service agent will collect and replace the machine "free of charge" - remember there is no such thing as a free dinner.
The same message can also appear if the capsule shutter becomes blocked for some reason, but this is usually pretty self evident.
The whole idea is to control the use of the machines and keep them reserved for professional users, whilst maintaining a control on inventory. A non Nespresso repair agent would need a specific software suite and a special cable/interface to re-set the counter.
The professional type capsules are not sold to the general public on the basis that office staff will have no reason to steal capsules for home use. At the end of the day Nespresso is just using every possible trick to hype their product.
Did you get the machine to work?
