how to update your garmin to 2014 maps for free ... How ToUpdate Maps On Garmin GPS For FREE ...
Do you have wifi or 3g connection? If you are using GPS, it doesn't require a connection, it relies on the satellites. Try running an application that runs on GPS like N Drive for iPhone because the default maps application requires that you be connected through wifi or 3g.
Make sure you have the iPhone 3G, or newer, because the original iPhone did not have GPS capabilities.
Also, make sure you are in a open outdoor area, (not crowded with skyscrapers)
Go in Settings > General > Location Services and make sure you have it turned ON, as well as all the other apps in the list underneath.
Make sure your phone is not in airplane mode.
Go in the Maps application and press the compass arrow in the bottom left corner. It should locate you on the map with a blue dot.
I am not sure how to fix that problem but I think that could be your internet slow. You have problem only when use maps and sat nav, those required the internet and GPS thing. If you could test that problem in the wifi environment, then we can see where problem regarding to internet connection issue or GPS receiver issue. From that you might easier find out the solution. Good luck.
Friend,
You can run maps on any phone. If it has GPS then you will get correct position with the help of satellites and if it does not have a GPS then you will get approximate position with the help of cell communication towers. You must download google maps from www.google.com/maps. That is the most fantastic maps that are available free for almost all phones. The best part is that it has Latitude feature with the help of which you and your friends can keep track of one another on your respective phones. This feature is free too.
I've looked for free map upgrades for my Garmin and could not find anything. I did find a lifetime map upgrade deal for around $75. It allows you unlimited upgrades for as long as you own the GPS. Go to the garmin site and search NUMaps.
simply tap on "maps" on the homescreen to open the Maps application. Then tap on the little circle in the bottom left corner to locate yourself using the gps module.
Out of the box, the iphone 3g doesnt support turn-by-turn directions like your usual tomtom gps system. You can download apps for that when youre on softwareversion 3.0.
2) Use the iPhoneGPS receiver to locate your position
3) Settings > Enable 3G change to On.
There are two positioning systems in the iPhone 3G, one is the 3G network, and the second is the GPS receiver. The problem occurs when the data from the two systems doesn't match.
