Hi,

The Format Error will get displayed in the Walkman Player when the unit is Formatted using the format utility in windows explorer or with other internal malfunction.
To resolve the issue, try resetting and then perform the Formatting the In-built Memory option in the Walkman player.
To reset the Walkman, press the RESET button near the USB Jack for more than 1 second with a thin instrument such as a paper clip.
If the issue persists, FORMAT the Walkman.
To FORMAT the Walkman, press and hold the MENU button in Stop mode until the SEARCH Menu appears.
Then, use the control Jog to select Advanced Menu and press > VOL to confirm.
Again, use the control jog to select FORMAT and press > VOL to confirm.
Now, select OK and press > VOL to confirm.
Formatting appears and starts formatting the Walkman.
When the Formatting complete, COMPLETE appears.
Press the > VOL button to return back to the playback screen.

After Formatting, download the MP3 File Manager Application to transfer the songs from the Computer to the Walkman.
This will resolve the issue.

Why do i get format error when i put songs from a cd on the eclipse?

Hi,

1. Why do i get format error when i put songs from a cd on the eclipse?
= This is probably because the format that your songs are currently in is not supported by your device. Supported devices on the Mach Speed Eclipse 180 MP3 player are: mp3, wav, and wma. If your music is for example filename.cda, it won't be able to play because of the file format being .cda.

2. I also see the song on the eclipse but it says drm protected and will not play the song.
= When ripping your music, check your ripping options in whichever ripping software you are using that protecting music files is off, this may be the reason why your music cannot play - it may be protected to only play on the computer that ripped(recorded or duplicated) the song.

Synced music files won't play on phone

You don't have a codec for that particular format. Try changing the music file to a different format, like MP3.
A program like "Any Audio Convertor" should do that for you in Windows. There are many free windows apps that convert formats of music files. Or do a search for an Audio convertor on the Google play store, there are plenty of free apps. Typically music apps won't display music files they cann't play, it just saves clutter on their play list.

Bought 4gb sandisk cruzer flash drive stored music from computer but it won't play the music on the car fm transmitter

a flash drive is used mainly for storing of files, you need a device that will play the files you want, in this case a device that plays mp3s and either transfer your music to/through it.
Unless your transmitter states that it plays different media formats that is but i have never heard of that before.
hope this helps.

When I down load music it will not play ,I get a format error message. What do I do

Hi a nite377...

Your player takes a certain format to play the music that you want to put into it.
It is telling you format error because the music you are trying to put into it is not the right format to play on you mp3 player.
You will need to download and install a format converter.
It will take the format of your songs that you want to put on it and convert them to the right format for your player to play.
Once you have the songs converted to the format you need, then download them to your player and they should play in your player when selected.
Go to the following website and download install and run a FREE (no strings attached) file converter.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

I am having problems downloading music from Itunes, I can go thru the steps and it appears to work but I cannot pull music up on player.

You might be downloading the wrong format. Many mp3 players will only play mp3s and won't play the format for the ipods.

My front loader reads disc error or unplayable no matter what disc I insert. It worked just fine for about 2 years. It doesn ot get heavy cd use, but everyday radio/alarm use.

To resolve this issue, try one or all of the following:
  • The Wave® music system is designed to play commercial CDs, CD-Rs, MP3-encoded CDS and CD-RWs. If your system has trouble playing MP3 CDs, make sure the discs were recorded with compatible formats. See Cannot play MP3 CDs

  • The system may not be able to play certain CD-RW discs. Playability is dependant on how the disc was recorded, including the format it was recorded in and the actual disc used for recording.
Note: iTunes defaults to AAC as the encoding format. In order to use iTunes to make CDs that will play on the Wave® music system, you’ll need to change the format to MP3 How to Choose Import Options

  • Different brands of CD-Rs and CD-RWs use different materials which may affect the ability of a player to read them. If you are burning your own CD-Rs or CD-RWs, experiment with different brands of discs

  • If a commercial disc won’t play, check for scratches, fingerprints or other physical damage. Try the CD in another player. If it still won’t play, there may be a problem with the disc

  • Reset the system by disconnecting the power cord from the wall for one minute, then plug the system back in

It keeps saying file error

Check the format of the music you are playing and if you have music that requires the license it will load the music but not play. It will show up as a file error.
