Detergent goes where?

I'm a smart guy, but can't see where the detergent goes. When I open the door I see a spot for the faberic softener and another for bleach, but no place marked "Detergent". We purchased this until 2nd hand so I don't have the paperwork. Any thoughts?

You cannot add the detergent after the water fills because it is a front loader and the door locks

MLG2000A - Maytag Neptune Super Stack SL-3
1 - Select Wash/Rinse Water Temperature
2 - Select Options (Max Extract, Extra Rinse, Signa)
3 - Select Cycle
4 - Load the Clothes Washer (add detergent on top of the load in the tub, and additives [fabric softener, bleach] in their dispensers).
5 - Start the washer.
This is according to the owner's manual I have. Has worked for 9 years for me.

I would love to get a copy of your Owner's Manual.... Haven't been able to find anywhere - not even on the Maytag site! Just moved into a house that has this unit.

Send an email to [email protected] and I'll send you the PDF from Maytag. I downloaded it several years ago from Maytag, and evidently, their current site can't remember where it is. :-)

Let the washer fill with water, add detergent, THEN add clothes. Do not put clothes in first with detergent directly on them (it can fade coloring).

Smelly washers

OK there are a lot of people with the smelly front load washer . the smell is caused buy a build up of detergent it is recommend that you use 2 tbs of detergent and 1 if you have a water softener. also leaving the door open after a washing is good to help it air out . to often people blame the door gasket because they get spots on them well the rubber used is a antimicrobial rubber so it cannot mold . the smell is actually soap build up trapped inside the washer if you run your washer with nothing in it and see soap suds your using to much detergent. there is hope though cutting back on detergent and using a product called Lemeshine mc3 will eliminate the odor issue.

Lost manual to LG washing machine WF-T502c Fuzzy Logic. Just want to know where detergent and softener go?

I do not know this model. However, on other top load LG washers, the powdered detergent goes in a box at the back (top) of the washer, and the fabric softener when diluted gets poured into a spot near the left side of the top of the washer. (The bleach goes near the front of the washer.) For front-loading washers, the detergent and fabric softener are poured into the detergent drawer. The largest compartment is for detergent (wash cycle) and is usually on the left. The smallest compartment is for fabric softener.

Manuals for most LG appliances are available at their site. Start at http://www.lg.com/au/support/product/support-product-profile.jsp?customerModelCode=WF-T502C&matchedModelCode=NOT_MATCHED&searchEngineModelCode=WF-T502C&initialTab=documents&targetPage=support-product-profile . The manual is in a DjVu format.
A partial manual is also available here: http://monitor.diplo-best.com/review/LG/WF-T502C . You will need to review the washer or enter a code.

I hope this helps.

Water won't drain out from the spots where fabric softener goes

It typically has some residual water after a load. All you need to do is to remove the detergent dispenser and dump the water out. To remove the detergent dispenser, pull it out as far it will go, then look into the detergent slot. There should be a horizontal plastic tab in the back of the detergent slot. Press the left side of the plastic tab and pull the dispenser out of the machine. Then you can dump the water from the bleach and fabric softener slots. Just slide it back into the machine and your good to go. Hope this helps.

Greasy looking spots on clothing after washing/drying.

Without seeing the spots, this is a bit speculative, but here goes,......
I'm guessing that the spots are only found on the front side, primarily of shirts, or blouses, etc. These are from grease splatters from cooking, which many times only show up after washing and drying.
The soap releases some dirt, which is attracted to the non-removed grease spot, allowing it to show up. Re-wash the clothing, pre-spotting those areas with a citrus pre-spotter.
