I have a polycom viewstation FX and appear to have problems regarding the ISDN. We seem to be able to connect outgoing calls ok (however it does take a long time). But incoming calls do not connect, just rings and rings. Any suggestions?

When you use the internet you are using a connection to your ISP (Internet Service Provider) over some kind of line whether it is a phone line using a modem or a cable for a cable modem. ISDN is just another way that you connect to the internet. ISDN stands for Integrated Services Digital Network. ISDN is a digital phone connection system and is often used to give you higher and more reliable service. So, what they mean is to call your phone company and ask them to check your line, that is all they mean. Remember, the Internet itself is just a huge set of connections using an unbelievable number of types of connectivity from phone lines to space based relays and how you get there is through whatever line you have set up between you and your ISP. On the Polycom support website download the documentation for the Viewstation SP. It is very similar.

First you should check if the power supply is working. You can buy a different one on ebay or if you have a second one you can see if that is the cause. If your power supply says "Spectre" instead of Polycom then it is a good chance that the power supply is at fault. Those weren't so reliable.

RMA it with your support provider

Try disconnecting the ISDN module and then cycling the power. If that doesn't work speak to your support provider about repair costs. Ultimately you may need to replace it because of its age (it might be End of Life and not available for repair)

No, i don't think si. The polycom needs an ethernet connection to a router. You might get this working by putting the 3g card into a PC and enabling connection sharing, however even if you got it work itsd a bad solution in terms of:
- Cost
- Reliability
- Security.
ADSL would be better.

I just called Polycom and the guy said it starts with 0003 or 0004. Sure enough I had one of those numbers, it was the same as the serial number on the box the phone came in. This number is found on a sticker on the back side of the phone. Easy to find, but not labeled as a "mac address"

Are you able to move the camera using the remote?
If not, then you may have a hardware issue.
If yes, then try to connect to the Viewstation (web interface) using its IP from a Computer.
