The Quickcam Express is not compatible with Vista. The reason Vista is available on the CD is because it is a standard CD shipped with all Logitech Webcams. Compatibilty specifications would have been available on the packaging. Please see here.
If you have a different camera than the Quickcam Express, then select your camera from this page and see if there is a download for Vista. If not, then you may have to exchange the camera from the point of purchase, if you purchased it recently.
If the camera IS compatible with Vista, then try a clean boot install as outlined in this article.
check if you have the 32 bit vista or a 64 bit vista os. if you have the 64 bit vista on the computer try to install a 64 bit vista compatible printer driver to make it work.
You will need to install the USB driver from your software(disc) to your vista.
and make sure the computer is recognizing your camera, check under control panel and device managers list if your product is listed under imaging devices, but chances are you might be having compatibility issues since it doesnt have an updater for Vista, hope this help. pls dont forget to rate. Thanks!!
Try to install the software anyways, even though it is not Vista Compatible, meaning it wasn't tested or certified for use with Vista. If that doesn't work, try to visit Ricoh's website to see iff they have a driver compatible with the Ricoh Caplia R40. If that doesn't work, email Ricoh and ask what they can do to help you.
The best thing to do would be to contact the manufacturer of said camera and ask if they have a "Driver" thats written for Vista.
Otherwise the only shot ya got is to install the software in "Compatibility Mode for XP"
Vista and drivers is a nightmare for us engineers I have many, many customers that curse the day the switched to Vista.. and frequently they have ended up sourcing all NEW gear so it would work with Vista, hey maybe that all part of the Ahem "Plan"? Lol..
