You may have never formatted your memory card. This can eventually lead to errors like you're experiencing. First download all available pictures from the card. Next turn on the camera in preview mode. Press the menu button, then select the "tools" menu (second one from left). Go down the menu to the menu item stating your memory card's capacity and select it. Next select "Yes" to format. Note that this will also totally erase your card, so again make sure to FIRST download your pictures.

I had taken pictures at my son's 16th bd party. I had looked at them on the camera throughout the night. I took a picture and tried to look at it and the camera said file error. None of the pictures...

Take no more pics until you've recovered your photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that may help you recover your photos. This article reviews and outlines several of the better ones:

You can run a check on that memory with Active File recovery to see if the pictures are there or not. If they are there you can get them back.

The free demo o this software allows only file smaller than 64kb to be recovered or you can use the online version which might not have the limitation but it might not see he memory stick not even if the camera is connected to the computer. There's possibility thought that it might see it if you connect it before starting the online version, the demo should see the card if it's connected.

Take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for:

You will need to use a flash card reader with this software. If you don't have one, get one, they're cheap:

Motorola Razor: thumbnail doesn't match photo

it's actually a "normality" of motorola cameras ... The sound you hear of it "snapping" a picture and what you really see are two different time frames. Best trick: hold still even after you hear/see it take a pic.

Go into your options and see what your resolution size is. Try bumping it up if you can. Hopfuilly that beefs up the photo size.

File error

I have seen this problem with generic SD memory cards so it could be a faulty memory stick.  Try to get a replacement.  If you want to try to recover the pictures you have taken, I suggest Zero Assumption Recovery (Google for it). Check to see if it is compatible with your camera before downloading.
