Ac works but when compressor cycles, it wont come back on until i rev engine to 4500 to 5000 rpm's and compressor kicks back on until it cycles again. i have to repeat reving engine every time com

you need to check the pressure of the system if the system is a little low on freon it will cycle more also if the cooling fan is not working the pressure will raise and also shut off

Ac doesn/t blow cold air

There could be a leak in your a/c system. Does your a/c compressor engage when the a/c is turned on? To check, locate the compressor, its a big cylinder on the serpentine belt, you should see the wheel engage(spin) and disengage(stop) when the a/c is activated. If it doesn't move, then your compressor is bad. If it does move, then there is a leak in the system that will need to be repaired.

The AC compressor looks like this:

Compressor on my RV coleman ac unit bogging down

Take a look at your start capacitor. This the capacitor that kicks the compressor over when it tries to start. If the capacitor is bad, it cannot kick the compressor back over after the first cycle because the head pressure has not evened out yet. It is located in the upper unit on the side panel in a small box. Be careful, highly charged capacitors can zap you if you are not careful. Disconnect power and touch across the terminals with a meter or a screwdriver to discharge the capacitor.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

LG AC compressor problem

Compressor may be locking up. Run capacitor may be weak or loose wire. Sounds like major voltage drop off as unit head pressure increases.

My 1996 Lincoln Town car heater works but you cannot control the temperature and the air conditioner blows out hot air when turned on.What could be the cause of this problem?

To fix the AC unit which blows hot air all the time. Seems like you have a small leak in the system or the AC compressor has gone out. Suggest you try recharging the unit. Make sure you have the correct R-22 or 134A freeon. If this work for a few days then have the leak fixed, if this doesn't work replace the compressor. Check Ebay for the compressor i obtained one for $100.00. Cost $450 at Auto Zone.

LG ac M483CS not cooling

It is possible that the contactor points have carbon or dust deposits causing an intermittent condition or bad connection. Why not try replacing the contactor?

AC does not cool. Compressor kicks on and off (Humms when trying to start, electrical smell)

There are a couple possibilities:

1. If this is the first time you've started them for the season, one of the compressors might be seized up from sitting over the winter. In which case, new compressor required.

2. If you've just had the compressor serviced including recharging the system, it's possible that the system is simply overcharged. This will stop the compressor from working and giving you the same symptoms as above. If this is the case, you should have the service people come back with some guages and recover some of the refrigerant and the compressor should be fine.

3. If the unit has been sitting and there is a slow leak then there is not enough pressure in the system to allow it to run. The compressor will shut down if there is not enough pressure, but since you say there is a smell, i really doubt this is the case.

Most likely it's #1 or #2 above. If you haven't had it serviced recently, then yeah, it sounds like you're in need of a new compressor.

Good luck.
