Chg'd inlet valve, still rec code. Check float, appears to be working properly. It rises when water starts to enter the chamber. I assume that the micro switches are ok since the machine drains and starts to refill. Water pressure is good, no kinks in supply or drain hoses.
At beginning of cycle machine drains, starts to refill and about 1-2 minutes into cycle 1E codes comes up. I disconnected the hose fm the inlet valve and blew through it to the guide assembly, the impeller moves/not stuck.
I found a wire that was embedded in the black insulation on the door. It doesn't look as if it was ever connected, wasn't burned through, just broken. I traced it to flow meter. Rejoined it but still no go; still received 1E code.
I have the same problem and troubleshot to the same extent as you. Did not notice wire. Everything clear and no obstructions. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.I have the same problem and troubleshot to the same extent as you. Did not notice wire. Everything clear and no obstructions. Are you sure it's 1E and not LE error code?? The symptoms you mentioned indicates that it is an LE error code and the motor has an issue. You will need to call a qualified LG technician to diagnose and resolve the problem.

LG Washing Machine Displaying Fault Code IE or 1E
WM2016CW
WATER INLET ERROR // Water not entering washing machine correctly
The manufacturer has assigned this error or fault code to indicate that the washer is not filling with water. Check to be sure the water supply valves are open. Also, check to be sure the water supply hoses aren't kinked or clogged. Next, remove the hoses from the washing machine and run water into a bucket to test the pressure and flow of the water. If all of these check out and you have good water pressure and flow to the machine, you should replace the water inlet valve.
Since you have replaced the water inlet valve and still have the 1E error code, this leads me to believe that your water pressure could be too low.
1E error code means that your machine is not filling with enough water to operate correctly, so check the supply system completely and also the filters where the supply hose enters the machine.
The poor cleaning could be food clogging the lower filter screen, the groaning is the circulation pump cavitating.
You need to check the voltage on the inlet valve coil terminals to see whether the main control board is actually switching the valve on to take in water.
If not replace the main control board PCB as this is the only other problem remaining.
When the Dishwasher won't fill you'll need to
check for the water inlet hose, the water inlet valve and the float switch
assembly. When the water fills your dishwasher, a float rises along with it. As
the float reaches a certain threshold level, it shuts off the flow of water,
thereby preventing a leak. Sometimes the float can get stuck in the wrong
position in your dishwasher, and it can prevent your dishwasher from filling.
Sometimes it can happen due to float valve and on other occasions due to float
switch. Inspect the water hose coming to the dishwasher for any blockages. If the
hose is not clogged then check the water inlet valve for any clogs, if the
water will not even fill for few seconds then certainly the water inlet valve
is bad and should be replaced. You can also use a multimeter to check
continuity on inlet valve. If you don't get any value on the multimeter then
you'll need to replace the water inlet valve assembly. However, if the valve is
fine then the float switch assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps...
Please post back if you need more information.
It is not 1E, but I.E which is "INLET ERROR", the inlet valve is not letting the water through, it does sound intermittent though, please check the following, if it does not solve your problem, the Inlet valve should be replaced (Which can be bought at any reputable Appliance Spares Shop)
- Is the tap open fully? - Check the Inlet Hose, is it kinked in any way?
Hope this helps

1E error is
Not reached to the normal
water level in spite
of 10 min. water supply
POSSIBLE CAUSE REMEDY
FOR ERROR OCCURRENCE
The Water Supply Tap is closed.
The Water Supply is shut off.
The Inlet Hose is kinked.
The Water Pressure is very low.
(below 10 psi)
Inlet Valve is OK?
The filter of Inlet Valve is clogged
by impure water.
The Hall sensor is OK?
The Impeller of Air Guide is bound.
Remedy
Take action on Water Supply
device.
Measure the electric resistance of
Inlet Valve. (950-1300 )
Clean the filter of Inlet Valve.
Check the frequency of Inlet Water
by the Test Mode.
Replace the Air Braker.

I had a LG certified repairman come out and fix. The electrical wires within the door were melted into the "tar" (sound deafening spray) and one wire actualy sheered. Apparently the drying cycle heats the tar and the wires become embeded and melt into the tar. This is what was causing the error code. After the wire was tested and spliced everything worked great. Long term...The door/electrical harness was replaced by LG.
