You can adjust the bright from the settings menu. Procedure for that is:
Menu -> Settings -> Go to 'Display' section -> Then, there would be an option called "Brightness".

With regards to your camera, do you know if the rear cover of the phone has been removed at any time??

If it has then there is a chance that the small switch for the lens cover has been damaged which will stop the activation of the phone.

it seems to me you havent damaged the battrey so that means you must of damaged the soft wear that programs the screan

yes try to reheat the display connetor on board
if you have a hot air. or use soldering iron use smallest tip so that you cannot touch the other parts.
