I believe the recorder is bad, it should be able to accept all brands and types of disks. You might want to try another brand and type of disk just to make sure, if it does not work, the recorder is bad. Good luck to you!
Sounds like you are either working on a network which must provide you with an IP address automatically (i.e. not permitting static entries), or you are incorrectly configuring the information for your static address.
Is there a requirement to use a static address, or will DHCP work just fine?
