The factory code combination to your electronic lock will remain in the memory of the unit - even if the batteries go dead. Any use programmed codes will be lost if the batteries lose power. The Sentry programmed factory code is always your default code.

If you do not know your factory code, you can follow this link for your combination retrieval:

SOURCE: sentry safe S3877 have key and know combination but battery dead

Our safe had a philips screw at the bottom of the keypad (facing downward), not a paperclip hole as some do. To replace batteries, unscrew this setscrew and twist the face gently. Replace the 4AAs and reinstall faceplate/fingerpad. Should work.

You need to look on you tube for this. There are lots of videos on opening that safe with a rubber mallet.

I have a Sentry safe S3877 the batteries were replaced with new it still gives the error beeps for batteries need to be replaced the safe will not open, how can I get the safe to open?

A1 Locksmith Burlingame CA Once you get the error light that means you are entering a user code that was deleted when the batteries went dead . Simply replace the batteries then use the master code in your owners manual to open the safe. Reprogram new user code instructions bottom of this page.

Somehow can open my sentry s3877 with the keypad.

A Safe and Vault Tech Will confirm that once you change the batteries the user code will erase and you will now have to enter the factory default that is in the owners manual and then use the programing instructions to program a new user code.

Sentry safe S3877 have key and know combination but battery dead

Use paperclip to push in pin size hole below keyboard and then slide panel to right. Battery box is right there. Replace batteries and then was already to accept code.

S3877 Sentry safe will not open, get green light but lever

it sounds like the selinoid went bad or stuck this pulls the plunger down to release the handle, you might be able to take out the key pad and determine the 2 wires that go to selinoid jumper them out with a nine volt battery good luck. p.s. this could ruin your safe, be carefull. bigds keys

Sentry s3877 battery compartment broke

I had the same problem with my Sentry S3877. I found the exact 4-battery replacement (with snap attachment on top!) at an online electronics.retailer, but had to purchase a lot of three. I don't need the other two, so I'll sell them for just $6 each to the first two folks to contact me [email protected].

Oh, by the way, once the batteries went dead, you lost your combination! When you pop the new battery compartment in, the factory default combination will be in effect. That default combination is in your user's manual. I'm currently searching frantically for mine! Gee, how could I have misplaced it ... I just had it in my hands when I purchased the safe 10 years ago !!!

Anyone know the default combo for the S3877?
