Re: HP Photosmart c6380 wireless printer works fine, but...
First,
we need to create the Ad hoc network that will provide wireless
connection between your computer and printer. On the right hand portion
of the Taskbar, you can right-click the wireless icon and choose "View
Available Wireless Networks". Or you can double click the wireless icon,
then click "View Wireless Networks". It is also accessible from the
Control Panel. Either way, the same window as shown in step 2 will
pop-up.
2
View Wireless Networks
The Wireless Network Connection window shows you all the
wireless networks in range including the network where you are
connected. If you have many neighbors with wireless networks, it will
all show up. Click "Change advanced settings" and it will bring up the
Wireless Network Connection Properties window. Choose the "Wireless
Networks" tab and at the bottom click "Advanced" button.

Wireless Networks Properties
From the Advanced option window, choose "ad hoc" networks
only. This is just to simplify the process. You should also bring this
back to original setting after you are done connecting via Ad hoc. You
may choose to skip this step if you wish and you should still be able to
make the connection without a problem.
4
Create the ad hoc network
Click the "Add" button and type in a name for your Ad hoc
network. Make it more intuitive so you can easily recognize your own
network just in case there are other Ad hoc in range. Check off the
automatic key and enter a 5 or 10 digit network key. This is the same
key that you will input at the printer later. Click OK and then OK
again. You are now connected to the Ad hoc network. You are half way
through.
5
ad hoc network
Make sure the printer is ON as well as the wireless radio
button. On the printer control panel, press the setup button to access
the menu. Go to Wireless Menu and press OK. Press the arrow to go to
Setup Wizard and press OK so the printer will automatically search for
wireless networks in range. From the list of networks, find the SSID or
Ad hoc name that you created and press OK and type in the network key
using the alphanumeric keypad on the printer. The printer should confirm
the connection in less than a minute. That's it! Try to print a test
page to make sure everything is working properly.

You have to browse the software driver that you downloaded and look for scanner driver. Run the installation again. If the software driver is not complete, you can download here: You must select first the operating system and look below the drivers.
First of all, the HP C6380 must be connected locally from the PC that you are using. You can then use the scan option from your printer or scan option from the control panel of your system.
this would give you direct link to your software and driver just download it and re install it after you have done that one your printer should be working fine
You are saying that the printer/scanner is directly connected to the computer?
You need to start checking the physical connection. Make sure that you can print to make sure that the printer is being recognized by the computer.
Second, try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer/scanner driver using the CD that came with it. Most of the time, it's the driver that causing the problem.
you will have to uninstall the scanner drivers from the computer in the control panel>scanners..then uninstall the printer drivers from the orinter in the control panel and then run the wireless setup wizard on the printer then try reinstalling the drivers and the s/w using the disc that came with the printer......see if works
First open services goto start Run type services.msc and see for the entries (hp cue discovery , hpqcxs08 and hp network device) and make sure they are enabled.
Then Goto device manager (Right click on computer and then properties then device manager) Here click on View and show hiden devices and under network adaptors see if you have a red X on HP Printers then delete all he etries you have for HP here (If t prompters a restart restart later) after you have deleted all you may restart your computer.
Then start to install or add a device from the disk.
If it finds the printer do not click on next got to device manager then view and show hiden devices and see if you have the HP Printer with a Red X if yes right click on it and enable it (If it prompts a restart DO NOT RESTART) close this device manager window and in the instalation widow click on next and it should complete the installation.
