Nightowl 8500 500 GB harddrive 8 camera system. I could see the video right out of the box. Set up the VGA cable to a 1080p tv. I changed the video resolution to the highest setting and my 1080p tv will not view it. Get a message on the tv," Not Support!" I can't see the menu to change it back. How do I change the dvr back to the factory settings.

The only way is to connect it to a vg computer type screen and then get in the menu if you changed the resolution on your tv you should then get in the tv menu and changeit there

Jan 3, 2012 - I can switch one of them from one HDMI input to the other HDMI ... The YPbPr option might be set at 720p, and you can change that to 1080i.
Oct 20, 2012 - Change it: Your Comcast/Motorola HD Cable Box may be outputting ...they set it to output a 720p signal via the HDMI out to my 1080p-capable ...
Depends on the tablet. Many have a micro hdmi connector so a micro hdmi to standard hdmi cable will do the trick. Some have a mini hdmi so mini to standard. There are some that only have a 1/8th inch jack so you would need a 1/8 inch video adapter that splits off a right and left audio and a video RCA cable.
It will depend on the laptop's available external video ports. You can connect a VGA cable from some laptops to the VGA port on the TV. Then plug in a 3.5 mm audio cable from the headphone jack to the PC audio in port. (The audio connection is optional. You could continue using the laptop's speakers.)
Make the connections with the TV and the laptop off. You may need to enter the BIOS to enable the external video port. (It can be turned off to save power. The BIOS is accessed on boot by pressing a key (Esc, F1, Del) noted on the splash screen. For Win8 machines, you'll need to do a special restart.) Then turn on the TV before turning on the computer. The TV monitor should be automatically recognized for resolution and refresh rate. Next, if you have a Windows system, right click on the desktop (pick a spot with no icons or running programs). Click on Screen Resolution (or perhaps Graphics Properties, depending on the OS). Set the monitor to duplicate the screens or send data only to the TV screen.
I'm not sure if the HDMI ports will understand a computer signal. (Not all TVs can interpret the computer's HDMI signal; it is different than that of other set top boxes.) You can try the following connections. If your laptop has a DVI output, use a DVI to HDMI cable (or adapter) to connect to the TV. Then connect the HDMI cable to HDMI 1 and use the PC audio connection as above. For an HDMI output, use an HDMI cable. (You will still need the audio cable unless you can reset the audio signal to output on the HDMI port. Go to the Control Panel and then the Hardware and Sounds section. Under Sound, select Manage audio devices. Then in the Playback tab, make the HDMI audio the default.) For Display Port or Thunderbolt outputs on the laptop, you will need a DP to HDMI adapter.
If the HDMI port doesn't understand the computer signal, you'll need to use a converter to go from the computer's output to component video or to VGA. Then connect the converter's output to the appropriate port on the TV.
I hope this helps.
Cindy Wells (To access the Control Panel in Windows 7 and earlier versions, click Start and then find the Control Panel in the right hand column. For Windows 8, press the Windows key + X (or access the Charms menu on the right-hand side (Win+C) and choose Settings). Then select the Control Panel.)
When you connect the vizio try changing the resolution settings on your laptop to see if that makes a difference. Could be that your video card output is not really compatible with the higher requirements of the Vizio.
No, a DVI to VGA adapter will not work. (The TV is looking for the digital signal from a set top box. This is different from the analog signal on the VGA cable.) You need a converter. Your best bet would be a VGA to component video converter. (I am assuming that the Sharp TV has a component video input.) This page has some examples: http://www.ramelectronics.net/audio-video/video-converters/vga-rgb-hv-to-component-video/c10000-c11200-c11215.html?sorter=productname-en-asc . Note a VGA to component video cable will not work. The VGA to component cables are for projectors that read the RGB signal. The component video signal is YPbPr.
Connect the VGA cable to the converter and the component video cable to the TV and the converter with the computer and TV off. Turn on the TV first and set it to the component video input and then turn on the computer. Then (assuming the VGA port is enabled - adjust in the BIOS if needed) set the computer's video output to the VGA port. (On my Windows 7 laptop, this can be done by right-clicking on the desktop. Choose Graphics Properties and set the display to the external monitor or both. Click Apply and then confirm the change (on the external monitor if using the single monitor). (VGA to Composite video converters also exist if you do not have an available component video input on your TV.)
If your computer is fairly new, you may have an HDMI port. Your TV may be able to read the signal with a DVI to HDMI cable. (It depends on the TV. Not all of them will read the computer's signal on the DVI port. Check the documentation for your model. TVs without a VGA port are less likely to support this feature.)
You don't say if you are watching on a TV or computer, so I'll assume a computer. View on a TV and you will probably find that the video is OK, and that the computer is not able to keep up with the video quality you have selected.
VGA is a high capacity video cable requirng for computers to have an enormous pixel density to capture to display beyond to another set devices. Usually with VGA cables, each devices computers, televsions, DVRs have to be high defination devices. Recent innovatons are all enabled to functions with VGA, only requires ascertaining the methods of connections. For example, VGA cables performs with capacities that disallows for the TV or computer to be connected to several devices that also request amount of extensvievss in pixel definitions.
hi, 1080p full hd video can obtainonly through hdmi. for that u need a full hd blue ray player or full hd sat receiver . the tv automatically changed to full hd according to the input connecting to it .go to hdmi setting and check whether hdmi connectivity is ON. also check the hdmi setup of ur input device. ok
I have two suggestions. First, make sure your TV is set up to receive inputs from the RCA jacks you're plugging the cable into. Second, you may have to change the screen resolution on the computer to something the TV can handle. To do this plug the VGA cable back into your normal monitor. Right click in the field. Left click on properties or personalize, depending on your operating system. Then left click on setting or display settings. There should be a slider bar where you can change the screen resolution. I'm guessing it's probably set too high for your TV. Try reducing it and then plug the VGA cable back into the RCA jack converter. I hope this helps you out.
well i would run it throw direct to tv ok then digital out from tv back down to this digital inn ok of samsung use hdmi to hd tv fro xbod 20 tims better looking
