The cold water just trickles into the machine, the hot water fills fine. I removed the hose from the wall and cleaned that filter. Is there another filter I can clean out?

Hello klj... Unscrew the cold hose from both ends and run a wire through the entire length to remove any blockage anywhere. Also check the connection locations looking for calcification of some kind. If it's clean, you probably have a defective water-inlet valve. If so, you need to replace the valve. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

Cold water trickles into the tub while it is being filled up

The hot and cold water supply hoses that connect the washer from the water supply faucets on the wall to the water connections on the back of the clothes washer usually have filter / sediment screens within there connection fittings at the end of the hoses, these will collect dirt, sand, calcium deposits, etc.,when they trap enough of these materials they will plug up and restrict the flow of water into the clothes washer. Turn off the water faucets at the wall, and you should do this for both hot and cold hoses, disconnect the hoses from the washer and the water faucets, look into the hose ends and pull out the screens and clean them out by running water and what ever you can use to clean them completely!!!!!
Now look inside the water connections on the back of the clothes washer, where you screw the hoses on the washer, and check to see if there are filter screens in there, if there is, remove them and clean out completely also, then reverse the removal process and reconnect the hoses, makeing sure to connect the hot and cold hoses to the right connection on the back of the clothes washer!!
Try filling the washer with water to see if you have corrected the problem.
Make sure hot and cold hoses are correct on the back of the washer!!!!
GOOD LUCK !!!!!!

Hot water entering machine is only a trickle. It

Check the filter trap on the back of the washer where the hot water fill hose connects to the inlet valve, you wil have to shut the hot water valve off first, then remove the hose at the washer and inspect the little filter screen thats in the valve where the hose screws onto the washer, it probably has trapped enough sediment to restrict the flow of hot water into the washer.
Good Luck !

The hot water fills fine but the cold water just trickles in. The screen filters in the hoses are clear. Is there another screen filter on the cold water? Do I need a new inlet valve?

yes, there is another filter which you must clean. turn the water valve off, then remove the cold fill hose from the machine, and there is a small gauze filter in side the vavle from were you removed the hose, using a small pliers, pinch this little filter out, it will be full of limescale, wash it, replace it, put back the cold fill hose, turn water back on and select your programme. you will find that it is now working perfectly.

Hot water barely trickles into washing machine

Check the hose at the end where it connects to the washer (the inlet valve unit). There may be a screen there also that needs to be replaced or cleaned. If not then the hot water solenoid valve is probably gunked up with the same type of stuff you found in the filter screen. You may be able to clean it enough to get it to work but replacing it is just as easy and not very expensive. (Even cheaper see if you can salvage one from an old machine at the dump or that someone has left at the curb--the units are very standard across many manufacturers in the tU.S.) Both the hot and cold water valves are in the same unit.

Kenmore 90 Series Washer : cold water fills at just a trickle:

your hot water goes through the water heater so contaminates settle in the heater. the cold does not, there is a screen inside the fill valve where the hose hooks to the valve on the machine. if this in not plugged then the fill valve will have to be replaced. because of the build up of contaminates..

Rinse water barely trickles out of my washer

Do you fill the machine with hot water only?

If so, this is what I suspect. The filters in the inlet hoses on the back of the washer need cleaning. Remove the garden hose connectors, remove filter, clean, replace.

When filling with hot only you get a lot of pressure thru one hose. When you rinse, the best you can do pressure-wise is cold rinse -- but the cold water filter is going to be more clogged than the hot so it delivers less water.

When you use warm rinse, you get mediium pressure thru both lines, again less water than al hot on filling the machine.

Cold water filling

There are filter screens where the supply hoses connect to the washer. On some brands there is a screen where the hose connects to the water valve at the wall. The screen is probably full of sediment.

Hot Water runs in fine but the cold only trickles into Washer,

There are 2 hoses. Hot and cold and if the nobs are not turned wide open then it will not give you the water like you want. Check to make sure that the hot water nob is turned to were the water should come out like the cold. If not that then check the water heater and see if it is set up the way it needs to be.
