Probably depends where the break occurred. If there is still a piece of the spool pin in place, you can try slipping a piece of a plastic drink straw (like the drink straws at MacDonald's) over the remaining piece and using it as a spool pin. You may be able to find a handyman who can create an alternative. Or you can take it for service.

I looked forever to find this darn green bobbin screw. Around the opening for your bobbin is a plastic cover. If you slide it forward it will pop right off. Once you remove this, the bobbin case will lift right out. On the front you will see your green screw for adjusting your bobbin tension.
SOURCE: Can't wind the bobbin
Hi again,
Well we finally downloaded a service manual that cost a few bucks, then finished getting the machine apart, then found a small rubber O-ring that had obviously gotten hot when spinning after the tangling of the thread on the bobbin stem. You could see where the heat had melted tiny teeth marks in the ring and it was stretched out of shape. It and yours too will need to be replaced.
If you or someone you know is mechanically inclined, you will need to take five screws out of the back including a hard to find one under the foot raising lever (lower the foot), then one form the front that is under the thread cartridge, and you will have to remove the bobbin winding plate cover which is held by one small screw, and then remove a small screw from the support bar.
Good luck!

thread the same way as for sewing. put empty bobbin case in bottom. close slide plate only to red button, not all the way. wrap thread from needle around bolt that holds on the presser foot (or just hold it tight). press pedal to sew. bobbin should wind. when done, shut slide plate all the way and sew.
if this doesn't work, try using a pin to push down the center of the bobbin when the slide plate is in winding position - the little catch on the bottom of the plate breaks easily and then the bobbin won't wind without a little help.

the rubber ring on the bobbin winder has probably gone bad which would mean replacing it but you can buy a portable bobbin winder called a sidewinder for around 20.00
