There are a couple sites I found that offer the codes for that player and the BD-P1000. I am not sure if I am allowed to post the links for those sites but the link to the site zimcloud posted is one of the places I saw it listed. You can google the model and region code and a list of sites come up.

Samsung bd-p1400 will not play certain disks
My dark Knight DVD was only playing the first 4 screens and I burned the firmware upgrade to a CD. It took about 20 minutes from the time I inserted it for it to be complete, then it stopped at 4 again but took about 30 seconds and it began to play perfect.

I have a samsung bd-p1400 blu-ray player and when I bought batman begins b/ray disc in it wouldn,t load the movie.. I even returned the disc and got another copy but the same thing happened..In the shop it...
Me too until I upgraded player's software via LAN connection to latest available (June, 2008). After this worked like charm.
